We at <a href="http://www.thehypetrain.co.uk">The Hype Train</a> will be providing a regular series of Power Rankings updates throughout the season for each position in the traditional Fantasy Premier League game for our partners at the Fantasy Football Hub. We will be picking our top five picks for Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, and Forwards, providing a graphical aid for each chosen player, and the reasoning behind our choices. All aboard.
<h3>How do our Power Rankings work?</h3>
We use player form, fixtures, potential, and our own gut instinct, to form our own opinionated view on who we believe is the best asset for each position in the FPL. Each position (Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, and Forward) has differing criteria which can help generate FPL points on a weekly basis, whether for short term gain or for the long haul.
For the purpose of this article we will list our top 5 and follow up with a player on the rise in that position to also consider.

<h3>Goalkeeper Power Rankings: Gameweek 6</h3>
Goalkeeper&#8217;s, on the most part, should be the most static and immovable objects in your Fantasy teams, with a lot more wiggle room to operate with keeper selection in the Draft game. That said, it&#8217;s always good to know who is performing and who are the moving targets to look out for. We profile what we believe to be the best five shot stoppers in the FPL game right now after Gameweek 5 and heading into Gameweek 6.

We&#8217;re five Gameweek&#8217;s down in the Fantasy Premier League, and the season has been the ride of your life if you&#8217;ve been backing Man United players in your FPL teams. With opening fixtures against West Ham, Swansea, Leicester, Stoke, and Everton, there was a lot of pre-season hype about their assets getting of the mark quickly. Fortunately, the most selected keeper in the league, David de Gea, has not disappointed the growing 35.2% ownership that backs him in their teams.
Ahead of Gameweek 6, which sees Man United travel to Southampton, de Gea climbs to the top of the Power Rankings, climbing above Huddersfield&#8217;s Jonas Lossl after managing a fourth clean sheet of the season against Everton.

United are the first club this season to reach four clean sheets, with de Gea, Jones, Bailly, and Valencia, the four players to have played in all five of the fixtures right now. Eric Choupo-Moting scored a brace past David de Gea, the only goals that has shipped past the internationally recognised shot-stopper, with de Gea&#8217;s 28 points in the FPL just one shy of Fabianski&#8217;s chart-topping 29 points.
In last week&#8217;s Ranking&#8217;s we said that de Gea would have a comfortable afternoon against Everton, with the visitors managing just seven shots on goal this season. Had it not been for de Gea, former United captain Wayne Rooney, could have scored a hat-trick of chances, with de Gea&#8217;s highlight coming just after half-time, saving from point blank rage against the Evertonian forward, who just today pleaded guilty to a drink-driving charge.
Next on the horizon for Mourinho&#8217;s defensively drilled side is a visit to Southampton, a side who have only scored four goals this season, and have failed to score in three of their five matches this season. It might very well be another quiet afternoon for de Gea against another side who is goal-shy in these early weeks of the season.

2) Rob Elliot (NEW)

Despite failing to keep a clean sheet during Gameweek 5, Newcastle&#8217;s impressive Irish shot-stopper, Rob Elliot, sees himself rise into the secondary slot in our Power Rankings list.
The main reasoning behind Elliot&#8217;s rise is the confidence of FPL players to finally play their £4.0m goalkeeper ahead of pricier assets. Elliot is the second most selected Goalkeeper in the FPL right now, commanding a whopping 22.8% of players, a figure which in reality should be near the 100% mark based of Elliot&#8217;s form and potential. Jumping ahead of Lossl, we believe Elliot is entering a green patch of fixtures to force ahead hid appeal for a starting birth.
A 2-1 victory at home to Stoke slightly dampened Elliot&#8217;s appeal on the day, with Xherdan Shaqiri&#8217;s effort a wonder-strike from outside of the box, but conceding has done no long-term damage to the Irishman&#8217;s FPL stock whatsoever. Elliot still remains on two clean sheets, but has a tempting run of fixtures that will tempt players to have both him and Jamaal Lascelles in their defence.

Who was Number #3 previously?: Rob Elliot (NEW), who rises in the Power 5
Dropping down a couple of places in the Goalkeeper Power Rankings is Huddersfield&#8217;s Jonas Lossl, who had previously been top of the pile for two consecutive weeks after mustering an impressive 23 FPL points from the opening three Gameweek&#8217;s.
Huddersfield have failed to win, or keep a clean sheet, in their previous two matches, losing 2-0 to West Ham thanks to two deflected efforts on goal, whilst Chris Lowe&#8217;s lunge on Andy King during Gameweek 5 awarded Leicester an easy route back into the match, with the Terries scoring the opening goal just minutes before.
Lossl didn&#8217;t have to make a save against Leicester, and managed just the two saves during Gameweek&#8217;s 3 and 4, meaning that players aren&#8217;t benefiting from additional save points, with the Huddersfield keeper ranked 10th overall, with other viable FPL options such as Elliot, Fabianski, and Forster, all rankings higher than the 13 saves made this season.

With some matches on the horizon that might scare off a lot of FPL suitors, it might be a few challenging weeks ahead for Lossl, who will almost definitely increase his shot-to-save ration against the likes of Spurs, Man United, and Liverpool. For now though, de Gea and Elliot, the two most popular Goalkeeper&#8217;s in the FPL, rise above Lossl.

We&#8217;ve one newcomer in the Power 5 this week, with Lukasz Fabianski&#8217;s continued away form proving enough to displace Watford&#8217;s Heurelho Gomes from the rankings altogether.
The statistics are weighing heavily in Fabianski&#8217;s favour, with the Swans adopting a ridged defensive formation when travelling away from the Liberty Stadium. Swansea have kept 3 clean sheets from 5 #PL matches this season, all away from home. Fabianski&#8217;s 24 saves this season is also more than any other Goalkeeper in the league. The Polish international has also managed an additional 6 save points this season from the last four matches.
Fabianski&#8217;s finest performance of the season came against Spurs in a 0-0 draw at Wembley, with the keeper making 8 saves, and claiming the maximum three bonus points, his first of the season.

With an enticing run of fixtures on Swansea&#8217;s side, this is the time to invest in a defensive asset from Swansea, with Fernandez, Naughton, and Fabianski, all boarding out train of thought ahead of Gameweek 6&#8217;s home encounter with a Watford side who were just scorched 6-0 by Man City on their own turf.

The only non-mover in the Power 5 this week is West Brom&#8217;s Ben Foster, who just, and we stress the word just, retains his place ahead of Fraser Forster in this list.
Both Forster and Foster managed clean sheets during Gameweek 5, but Ben Foster skirted with fate when he was nearly sent-off for a reckless last-ditch tackle on West Ham forward Javier &#8220;Chicharito&#8221; Hernandez. Foster, and his 17.3% of FPL owners, had to settle for five points and a yellow card, with the keeper only forced into one save against the Hammers. More so, Foster has only had to make a small tally of seven saves this season, which is the second lowest of any Goalkeeper, with Lloris&#8217;s six saves just one off Foster&#8217;s haul.

Last week we claimed that West Brom had an off week, and fortunately that was the case. Despite Foster&#8217;s owners carrying more weight than Fraser Forster in terms of his appeal right now, we see some tough encounters ahead for Tony Pulis&#8217;s side, who will entertain Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, and Spurs within their next eight matches, with tough trips to Leicester, Southampton, and Huddersfield, also within that.
If you&#8217;re a Foster owner right now, looking to wildcard, we&#8217;d suggest to avoid a fixture headache with him every week, that his days in this list, and in the teams of the many thousands who are active players, are numbered.

The Leicester keeper dropped out of the Power 5 two weeks ago, and is still on our radar for upcoming fixtures, which could see Leicester go on a good run of form until Gameweek 11, if you believe their fixtures are worthy of attention. It&#8217;s still just one clean sheet from the opening five games, but the potential is slowly simmering with Kasper each and every passing week.
