Welcome to Andrew Ferguson's Fantasy Football Diary. Andrew is a veteran all-round fantasy football player, with five consecutive top 1% finishes (best 715th) and numerous top 100 finishes across multiple formats (Top 100 in #SkyFF and #TFF 18/19). He'll be covering his progress and tips through the season in Fantasy Premier League, FanTeam, Sky Sports Fantasy Football, Telegraph Fantasy Football and Sun Dreamteam exclusively for Fantasy Football Hub members.

I'm disappointed to have used my full collection of superlatives for this season so early on, but there we have it. I'm nearly at the 'shrug' emoji level, that's how it feels. The final straw was preparing for the Sky Overhaul Planning podcast a couple on Sunday's back, having everything prepped following Spurs' demolition of Man United and with only minutes before going live, Aston Villa proceeded to pop goal after goal past my premium Liverpool defence to leave me speechless, both in terms of my teams and with me about to go live to analyse the football. I'm at a bit of a loss about how to proceed going forward this season with so much chaos and unpredictability around everything, with form doing its best Chuckle Brothers' impression (apologies to those outside the UK). Do we keep calm and remain patient? That certainly hasn't been rewarded over the last season or two! Or do we react to the form teams, throwing in Everton attackers and maxing out on the West Ham and Aston Villa teams? It definitely feels a damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario at the moment. After lots of big breaths and counting to ten, my strategy moving forward, as always, will be to *try* and stay calm, stick to the plan, hope for regression and that some sense comes back to football which ultimately will reduce the variance and help us climb the ranks. My hands have never been sat on so much, and my love for fantasy football so tested. Saying that, the entertainment has been wonderful and the drama unrivalled; maybe it's me that needs to change, not the football.
