1. Aston Villa (wat NEW BRE che)

Last season's FPL hero Emi Martínez and the rest of Aston Villa’s defenders are all priced at least £5.0m which is why I believe for the price they are not worth it. There are better options elsewhere in the defensive bracket.

Emi Buendìa (£6.5m) had a great record in the Championship last season and he's one to keep an eye on in pre-season. Jack Grealish (£8.0m) if he stays is a great option given the fixtures but if he leaves, I'd expect Buendia to take up the creative responsibility.

Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) is a tried and tested pick hence he would be a great pick given the fixtures.

2. Brighton (bur WAT EVE bre)

Robert Sánchez (£4.5m) looks great value for money and in my opinion, is the £4.5m keeper who will accumulate the most clean sheets this season. However, he does not make too many saves neither does he accumulate bonus frequently due to the high pass completion percentage of Brighton's defenders, hence has a low ceiling even if he is to keep a clean sheet.

Tariq Lamptey (£4.5m) is likely to have a full preseason and provided that he stays fit, is one to consider as he had great underlying numbers last season when he played as Brighton's right wing back. I simply don’t trust any of the Brighton attackers enough to have them in my team in Gameweek 1.

3. Everton (SOU lee bha BUR)

Lucas Digne (£5.5m) is one of the most underpriced defenders this season and creates a good number of chances hence whenever Everton are likely to get a clean sheet, he’s up there for bonus making him an explosive option.

Everton’s fixtures are really good from an attacking point of view hence Dominic Calvert Lewin (£8.0m) is my first pick among the forwards. He's a proven performer and will be integral to Everton's attack.

4. Liverpool (nor BUR CHE lee)
