<h2><strong>FPL Gameweek 23 Recap</strong></h2>
<p><strong>The Challengers</strong> – both Man United and Leicester dropped points, with neither side showing any momentum. Chelsea’s new manager bounce has paid dividends and they’ve won their last three games now.</p>
<p><strong>The Elite </strong>– with a 10-point lead and a game in hand, it looks over for Liverpool now. On current form, it doesn’t look like anyone can stop Man City.</p>
<p><strong>The Premiums </strong>– <strong>Fernandes (£11.5m), Salah (£12.7m), Kane (£11.0m)</strong> and <strong>Son (£9.7m) </strong>all returned. Could we see a return to normality? Possibly, however again it was the budget price players that ended up in the ‘Kings of the Gameweek’ team.</p>
<p><strong>Who to target</strong> – the new Newcastle are more fun to watch and that’s because they always look like conceding. They’ve been hit hard by injuries and I can’t see that trend changing. Southampton haven’t tightened up yet either. Lastly, West Brom are still the league whipping boys.</p>

<p>We’re finally back on track! With <strong>Pogba (£7.7m)</strong> injured, it looks like the <strong>Fernandes (£11.5m)</strong> show has returned. Since Bruno’s debut, 31 of the 60 goals scored by Manchester United have involved him (goal or assist).</p>
<p><strong>Son (£9.7m)</strong> felt like a bit of a punt given the form of both him and Spurs however, for captaincy I really like to target the fixture. I was fortunate that <strong>Kane (£11.0m)</strong> returned though, as I’m not sure they would have been as effective without him.</p>

<p><strong>Gameweek 24 fixtures are the reverse fixtures of Gameweek 9 (the additional fixtures were the games postponed due to COVID), here’s what happened last time:</strong></p>

<p>We got the classic <strong>Kane (£11.0m)</strong> assist and <strong>Son (£9.7m)</strong> goal however, that was against a very different Man City side and they will be hungry for revenge. <strong>Fernandes (£11.5m)</strong>, of course it was him, scored the only goal and came away with an 11-point return. Popular double Gameweek targets <strong>Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m) </strong>scored a brace, and <strong>Digne (£6.1m)</strong> made two assists.</p>

<h3><strong>Old Hunting Ground – do any of the likely lads have a good record vs their opposition?</strong></h3>

<li><strong>Fernandes (£11.5m)</strong> he’s only played them once, but I would expect him to return here. United dropped points against Everton, and West Brom can’t afford to sit back against them.</li>
<li><strong>Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m)</strong> bagged a brace against Fulham in the reverse fixture this season, and he scored at home against City last season.</li>
<li><strong>Sterling (£11.6m)</strong> has a consistent record against both sides.</li>
<li><strong>Foden (£6.1m)</strong> hasn’t been around for very long, I wouldn’t be put off by his record though, he’s on fire at the moment.</li>
<li><strong>Gündoğan (£5.9m)</strong> you can’t really judge him on his previous record, as that was played as a defensive midfielder and he’s in a totally new role this season. Incidentally, he did play one game against Spurs as central midfielder in the 17/18 season and he recorded a goal and an assist.</li>
