FPL Gameweek 8 Best Players & Formation
To start with, I’ve selected the top three players in the Prediction Tool for Gameweek 8. This included two midfielders and one forward.
There’s a tie at the top, with Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) scooping the top spot. Salah is the form man, with goals in five consecutive games. De Bruyne has scored once since returning from injury.
Harry Kane leads Heung-Min Son for the Spurs contingent, with Kane registering 11 shots in his last two appearances. Son has the form though with one goal and two assists in his last two games – but three premiums causes enough strain on the budget though.
FPL Gameweek 8 Best Forwards
With much of the budget already used up on three premium players (De Bruyne, Salah and Kane), we’ve looked at the best forwards priced under £8 million for our FPL Gameweek 8 team.
With forwards predicted to score higher than midfielders, it’s a 4-3-3 formation for us this week, with Neal Maupay (£6.5m) joining Harry Kane in the front line. He has two goals in his last four games and faces a Norwich side top for big chances conceded in the same period, with 12.
The second selection is Southampton’s Adam Armstrong (£6.0m) who faces a Leeds United defence top for shots conceded over the last four games. Saints will need to improve their scoring tally though after a quiet few weeks.
FPL Gameweek 8 Best Midfielders
With two premium midfielders making the midfield three, we’ve looked at the best midfielders priced under £6.5 million for our FPL Gameweek 7 team.
Bukayo Saka (£6.3m) makes the cut after registering a 13 point haul in Gameweek 6, with a goal and an assist against Spurs. He’s expected to prosper in his next game at the Emirates against Crystal Palace.
FPL Gameweek 8 Best Defenders
With our reliable fantasy defences running into great runs of upcoming fixtures, it’s no surprise to see a switch to “big at the back” with a four man defence to bolster our squads.
There’s two representatives from the Manchester City defence in the shape of Ruben Dias (£6.1m) and Joao Cancelo (£6.2m): Manchester City have conceded just three goals all season, with this pair not missing a minute.
Marcos Alonso (£6.0m) also makes the cut for Chelsea’s game against Brentford: Chelsea have kept four clean sheets this season and Alonso has registered two attacking returns in that period.
With budget becoming an issue in the final positions, we’ve looked to Kieran Tierney (£4.9m) for the third defender in this XI. Arsenal have three clean sheets in their last four games.
FPL Gameweek 8 Best Goalkeepers
With no budget left for an expensive goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale (£4.6m) becomes the bargain in the side as a cheap goalkeeper from one of the big six. He’s registered nine saves and three clean sheets in four games, conceding just once.
FPL Gameweek 8 Best Team
The FPL Gameweek 8 Best Team contains a Manchester City and Arsenal triple up. There’s plenty of differential options in there.
