Unless you want a threadbare feel to the rest of your team, it&#8217;s difficult to throw a lot of investment up front in a fantasy football squad. Kane, Lukaku, Ageuro, Jesus, Morata all in the FPL game are north of a whopping £10 million. So normally we would consider at least one &#8220;budget&#8221; striker.
Interestingly, that return on investment from the big hitters hasn&#8217;t been as promising as the first few weeks would have suggested. The Man City rotation policy likely has hindered the points haul of Ageuro and Jesus. Kane has been hit and miss recently (although still tops the strikers points total at 97) and Lukaku has just come off a bad run of form.
What is intriguing is that currently sitting as third highest points scoring forward is a Mr. Wayne <del>Shrek</del> Rooney. The most appealing thing about him as a fantasy asset is his price. Currently in FPL he sits at a measly £7.6 million with 91 points accumulated so far. Lukaku has 94 for £11.3 million and Kane 97 points for a hefty £12.8 million price tag.
Just glancing at the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> are eye opening too. Ten goals and two assists for Rooney in 16 games so far. Given how bad Everton were during most of this time that&#8217;s amazing in itself. He has therefore a 0.63 goals per game ratio additionally with almost two shots per game and at least one on target every game.
And to add, he is currently the Toffee&#8217;s preferred penalty taker and looks to have a new lease of life. The arrival of <a href="https://threemenandafootball.wordpress.com/2017/11/30/everton-have-done-well-getting-sam-allardyce/">Big Sam</a> seems to have made Everton a halfway decent team again. Quelle surprise! 
With a double header versus West Brom within the space of a few weeks, as well as games against Bournemouth, Leicester and a not so on it Spurs it could be time therefore maybe to think about getting the old dog back into our teams?
