Some fixture swings this week give us the opportunity to take advantage of looking at some very low-owned players for teams that have great long term fixture runs with a good mixture of teams that have no blanks gameweeks, with some having double gameweeks.

One of the top pieces of FPL advice I follow is to always look ahead to a minimum of three weeks in advance when making transfers and try to focus on fixing the weakest link. This helps build and maintain a well-rounded team with good depth and good point-scoring potential all over the pitch rather than relying on just a few key players each week. In my opinion, far too much thinking is spent on who to captain each week, rather than how to maximise your budget across your squad, spending money in the right places, maintaining structural flexibility and ensuring a continual influx of points from across your team. Successful FPL managers have well-balanced teams with a focus on value all over the pitch; the boring moves are the winning moves and the difference between finishing in the top 200k and the top 20k.

The Watchlist is focussed on lesser obvious picks with potential good value that can keep our scores ticking along whether the big boys’ fire or not. They are not sexy nor exciting and I’m not saying to bring them in right away, but they are players that I feel can offer great value to a squad over the medium term and give those extra few points in the background that we all crave each week. Some of them will also be ideal bench players so that when needed will come in and hopefully bring some points with them.

Armstrong – 5.1m (Southampton) – 0.3% owned

Dropping off the Watchlist, has had the odd return but hasn’t delivered as hoped

Townsend – 5.9m (Crystal Palace) – 4.3% owned

Some good returns and a big threat. Three good fixtures in the next four

Jota – 6.1m (Wolves) – 3.7% owned

A very exciting player with great acceleration and a good finisher. Three good fixtures on the bounce

Jonny – 4.3m (Wolves) – 2.8% owned

Very attacking wing back at a good price with three good fixtures on the bounce

Bamba – 4.6m (Cardiff) – 3.6% owned

Six good games on the bounce, decent threat and a return last weekend

Almiron – 6.0m (Newcastle) – 0.3% owned

Looks to be a great attacking signing and joining at a good time with only one difficult fixture in the next nine

Batshuayi – 6.5m (Crystal Palace) – 0.9% owned

Started well and has three good fixtures in the next four to really get going

Maddison – 6.6m (Leicester) – 4.2% owned

Leicester’s fixtures turn this weekend and Maddison looks a great pick for the foreseeable with a long stretch of good games. Leicester have no blank gameweeks

Gross – 6.7m (Brighton) – 1.8% owned

Looks back to his creative self and a great run of fixtures bar the blank this weekend. Great double gameweek option during GW32 and GW35

Rondon – 5.7m (Newcastle) – 4.4% owned

A great run of fixtures to score heavily from with the new and exciting Almiron supporting him. No blank gameweeks

Schar – 4.6m (Newcastle) – 1.2% owned

Great defensive fixtures and no blank gameweeks

Ryan – 4.4m (Brighton) – 2.9% owned

Following this weekend’s blank Brighton have nine good fixtures in the next ten and will likely have two double gameweeks

Chilwell – 5.0m (Leicester) – 2.4% owned

Very attacking and the fixtures over the next ten or so gameweeks to thrive. Leicester have no blank gameweeks
