<h2>Gameweek 23 Review</h2>
<p>Another green arrow! That's six in a row now, and 15 in the last 17 gameweeks. This week I scored <strong>72 points</strong>, moving me up from 247k to <strong>227k overall rank</strong>. Not a huge rise, but still going in the right direction. Like many, I had the frustration of <strong>Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m)</strong>'s 12 points on the bench, whilst <strong>Tomas Soucek (£5.4m)</strong>'s zero points stayed firmly in my team! Still, a decent week overall.</p>

<h2><strong>Gameweek 23 Preview</strong></h2>
<p>Normally, I now post the upcoming fixtures from the Hub's Fixture Ticker however, this week instead, I am posting a screenshot of fellow <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/ben-crellins-fpl-transfer-planning-sheet/">Hub Contributor Ben Crellin's spreadsheet</a> showing the 'blanks' in Gameweek 29 and the confirmed and potential double gameweeks between now and then:</p>

<p>This sheet takes some getting your head around, however I like to simplify things so, in an effort to try and save my wildcard until after this run of fixtures, I am going to focus  mainly on those teams that have both at least one likely double gameweek between now and gameweek 28 <strong>and</strong> a fixture in gameweek 29. These teams look to be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Fulham</li>
<li>Leeds United</li>
<li>Aston Villa</li>
<li>Tottenham</li>
</ul>

<p>This is how I'm currently set up, going into Gameweek 24:</p>

<p>As you can see, I picked up a couple of injuries in the FA Cup - <strong>Dominic Calvert-Lewin (7.7m)</strong> is set to miss the first of Everton's two games this week (the Fulham match) whilst <strong>James Justin (£5.2m)</strong> has, unfortunately, picked up a long-term injury.</p>
<p>Therefore I currently have just the three Manchester City players who play twice this week.</p>
<h2></h2>
<h2>Most Wanted List</h2>
<p>This is where I identify the players who I am currently most considering bringing into my team as well as highlighting who, if anyone, may be able to make way for them. This helps me to formulate a rough mental shortlist of potential moves. I update this list each week.</p>
<p>Again, the list is heavily influenced by the upcoming double gameweeks, but they also need to be decent picks in their own right.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Goalkeepers</strong></span></p>
<p class="ElementDialog__ElementHeading-gmefnd-2 ijAScJ"><b>Nick Pope (£5.5m) - </b>the second highest scoring keeper overall and a lovely little run of fixtures, including the double this week</p>
<p><strong>Alphonse Areola (£4.5m)</strong> - the Fulham stopper has been in good form and could be a cheaper alternative to Pope</p>
<p><em>Out-list:</em> <b>Sam Johnstone (£4.5m) - </b>he plays for West Brom!</p>
<p><em>Removed</em>: <strong>None</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Defenders</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Stuart Dallas (£4.9m)</strong> - plays as an attacking full-back or in midfield, for an attacking team - double coming up next gameweek</p>
<p><strong>Ben Mee (£5.0m)</strong> - that nice run of fixtures, including the double, nailed on with some goal threat</p>
<p><strong>Matt Lowton (£4.5m)</strong> - a cheaper route into that Burnley defence</p>
<p><em>Out-list:</em> <strong>Ben Johnson (£3.9m)</strong> - seems to have lost his place as quickly as he gained it - a wildcard mistake; <strong>James Justin (£5.2m)</strong> who is now injured long-term</p>
<p><em>Removed</em>: <strong>None</strong></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Midfielders</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Jack Grealish (£7.8m)</strong> - always a solid option, at a good price, and with extra fixtures to come</p>
<p><strong>Ademola Lookman (£5.0m)</strong> - a great value option for that run which includes a double, it's just whether I'll have room for him in a congested midfield area</p>
<p><strong><em>New</em>: Heung-Min Son (£9.6m)</strong> - yes, he's back again!</p>
<p><em>Out-list: </em><b>None</b></p>
<p><em>Removed</em>: <b>None</b></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline"><strong>Forwards</strong></span></p>
<p><b><em>New:</em> Harry</b><strong> Kane (£11.0m)</strong> - back fit and firing, he comes back onto the List almost by default</p>
<p><em>Out-list: </em><b>None</b></p>
<p><em>Removed</em>: <b><strong>Michail Antonio (£6.7m)</strong> - </b>a slight concern over fitness and a mixed run of fixtures, still a good pick though</p>

<h2>Chip Strategy Revisited</h2>
<p>To recap, I have the following chips remaining: second <strong>Wildcard</strong>, <strong>Bench Boost</strong> and <strong>Triple Captain</strong>. My Free Hit Chip I used in Gameweek 18.</p>
<p>My current plan is to navigate my way through now to Gameweek 29 (inclusive) via free transfers and the odd hit. I think I can do this by focusing mainly on the four teams listed above, together with the squad that I already have. I think that this can give me reasonable coverage of the upcoming doubles plus a fairly decent team in Gameweek 29. After that, I will use my Wildcard soon after (Gameweek 30 or 31).</p>
<p>My Triple Captain, I will use whenever feels right - perhaps Gameweek 26 if Kane or Son have an attractive double - this is an "easy" chip to use anyway.</p>
<p>My Bench Boost I will use post Gameweek 30, following my second wildcard - but that's some way off yet.</p>
<p>With a strategy such as this you have to accept that its going to be a tough set of Gameweeks pre-wildcard as I will be competing with a lot of teams who are using their Wildcards to set up optimally or the doubles and/or their Free Hit Chips for gameweek 29. However, I should then be in a strong position to finish the season.</p>
<p>That said, you need to remain flexible in this game, so all this may change!</p>
