<p>Welcome back, it’s been a short and very welcome break! Although the restart games were only a few weeks ago I don’t think it’s worth digging into them too much. The teams all had different motivating factors, or none at all (in the case of Everton, Palace etc), and it’s time to view everyone with a clean slate.</p>

<p>The first thing of note is that Manchester United and Manchester City both blank. So do Burnley and Aston Villa but those sides don’t typically provide us with decent captaincy options.</p>

<h3><strong>Old Hunting Ground – do any of the likely lads have a good history vs their opposition?</strong></h3>

<p>A lot of the decent candidate options don’t have any relevant history against their opposition, so I’ve included a few fringe players out of interest.</p>
<p><strong>Aubameyang (£12.0m)</strong> – this Fulham team isn’t a million miles away from the side that was last in the league, and Arsenal are arguably better now. He’s looking like a decent option.</p>
<p><strong>Son (£9.0m) –</strong> has a great record, however he’s only recorded a goal and assist in one Home game and blanked the other. Furthermore, the blank was under Mourinho in his wide left position.</p>
<p><strong>Kane (£10.5m)</strong> – has played four home games against Everton and he’s scored a brace in two and blanked the other two. One blank was under Mourinho and the two braces were in his halcyon days (2016-18).</p>
<p><strong>Alli (£8.0m)</strong> – scored against Everton last season and the season before, but both times it was away from home.</p>
<p><strong>Ings (£8.5m) </strong> – only has one goal away against Crystal Palace.</p>
<p><strong>Vardy</strong> <strong>(£10.0m)</strong> – it’s been mentioned that he always scores against West Brom, the stats suggest otherwise. However, all four of his goals were scored the four times he played them away, so that could be the reason the West Brom fans have that perception.<strong> </strong></p>

<p>These stats are pulled from the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">Fantasy Football Hub OPTA Stats tool</a> that is available to all members to help you analyse the players and teams.</p>
<p><strong>These stats are pulled from the Fantasy Football Hub OPTA tool that is available to all Members to help you analyse the players and teams. I have pulled data from all the post restart Gameweeks and displayed them as ‘totals’ for teams and ‘appearance’ for individuals. </strong></p>
<p>Although there is some merit in analysing these stats, I won’t be in great detail because I don’t expect things to be the same. As an example Aston Villa were the whipping boys pre-lockdown, then during the restart they were one of the most defensively resolute teams. Also, Liverpool were dominating pre-lockdown then seriously dropped off when the title was secured. Obviously, motivation played a major factor in this but it just demonstrates that historic stats need to be taken with a pinch of salt when determining form.</p>
