"Billy Bremner" is a devout Leeds United fan, and knows everything there is to know about their squad. After 16 years out of the Premier League, The Whites are back where they belong, and available for selection on Footstock.

In this first article in the Footstock Promoted Teams series, Billy considers the top acquisitions from the winners of the Championship. Keep your eyes peeled for his upcoming analysis of youth talent.

With the return of Leeds to the Premier League, we take a look at the players and the reasons Footstock holders should have them in their collections. Leeds United long awaited return to the top flight is the work of the Argentine master tactician, Marcelo Bielsa.

He has his team playing his every tune and has no standout player unlike last year’s promotion teams, who had Jack Grealish and Teemu Pukki. The focus here is on the team performance.

Bielsa used two goalkeepers last term, who have very similar attributes: Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier both like to play with their feet. Casilla, a 3 time Champions League winner, was brought in from Real Madrid to fit Bielsa’s philosophy of playing out from the back. Both keepers are keen to offload quick and start counter attacks so may get a few assists over the season. Meslier will be introduced as a common card so will be useful for those beginners lineups.

Ben White

Ben White and Liam Cooper are Bielsa’s favoured centre back duo, the former has has a excellent season on loan at the Yorkshire club. Leeds will be desperate to keep the talented Ben White, but Brighton boss Graham Potter has stuck a hefty £40 million price tag on the young centre back. White is in the same ilk as former Leeds defender Rio Ferdinand: he reads the game so well and has the ability to break through the opponent midfield line and start the Yorkshire club’s attacks off from the back. He will be a must have for Footstock holders this year as he is sure to rack up the points, whether that’s at Leeds or Brighton.
