FPL Double Gameweek 25 Recap

The Challengers – Manchester United got back on track with a comfortable win over Newcastle. Leicester continue to impress against a resolute, but Grealish-less Villa and West Ham added to Jose’s woes. The Chelsea machine were finally halted by Southampton, as Tuchel demonstrated how ruthless he can be by substituting a substitute.

The Elite – City continue to exert their dominance with their 18th win in a row without ever coming out of third gear. Things are going from bad too worse for Liverpool after Everton won at Anfield for the first time since 1999. Liverpool have their work cut out to finish top four now, especially when you consider their injury problems and the form of the challengers.

The Premiums Fernandes (£11.6m) picked up another double figure return. Was anyone surprised? Although he has two tough games for the double Gameweek, his consistently high points per game average means he can’t be ignored. With Salah (£12.6m) registering another blank, it’s increasingly looking like Bruno is the only premium left you can rely on.

Who to target – Fulham look a decent side and West Brom showed some real fight despite being down to 10-men. Sheffield United haven’t been getting the rub of the green and morale could be fading. Newcastle always look like conceding too.

FPL Gameweek 26 Captain - Our Performance

It was a successful week all round. Incidentally, Fernandes (£11.6m) won the metric last week, and even with a single game, he was the joint top performer. With all the main captain choices performing, it’s getting hard to close ground on those ahead. This week could provide that opportunity, though.

This was the fixture that gave Hatrick Bamford (£6.9m) his nickname. Big boy Antonio (£6.6m) and Foden (£6.1m) scored in this draw. Salah (£12.6m) blanked if anyone was wondering. Vardy (£10.1m) scored, as he tends to do frequently against Arsenal. Lastly, Spurs scored their trademark Son (£9.5m) goal and Kane (£11.1m) assist.

Old Hunting Ground – do any of the likely lads have a good record vs their opposition?

FPL Gameweek 26 Captain - Player Record

  • Sterling (£11.6m) has an immense record against both sides, however just be wary that the majority of his returns have come away from home and that both opposition sides are looking strong defensively.
  • Richarlison (£7.9m) has scored in three of the four games he’s played against Southampton for Everton and he’s two out of two from home. Earlier in the season he recorded a hatrick of assists against West Brom too.
  • Kane (£11.1m) has an excellent record against Burnley, which includes a brace and an assist at home last season. He also scored against Fulham in the reverse fixture and looks to be a popular captaincy option this week.
  • Calvert-Lewin (£7.6m) doesn’t have the best record against Southampton, but he did score a hat trick against West Brom earlier in the season.
  • De Bruyne’s (£11.8m) has recorded the majority of his returns at home against West Ham, which bodes well for the week. He hasn’t started at home against Wolves yet, but has an excellent record against them.
  • Barnes (£6.8m) has returned every time he’s started against Burnley in the last two seasons.
  • Vardy (£10.1m) loves playing against Arsenal, however the last time he scored away at Burnley was in 17/18. They don’t leave much space behind them, but he could always get a penalty.
  • Son (£9.5m) managed to get a goal and an assist at home against Burnley last season, however he did blank against Fulham in the reverse fixture.
  • Salah (£12.6m) doesn’t tend to do much against Sheffield United and he hasn’t scored against Chelsea since 18/19.
