<p><em>Following on from the excellent <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/differential-transfers-fpl-double-gameweek-24/">‘FPL Differential Transfers’</a> article by FPLTIPZ, Hub contributor <a href="https://twitter.com/fplwoodsy">Woodsy</a> highlight some even more extreme differential options for the coming Gameweeks. For the risk-takers among us, or those trying to make up ground on their mini-league rivals with just a hint of desperation attached to their psyche, here are some players with severe low-ownership who could just come good over the coming Gameweeks. These players are major differentials. Let’s call them<strong> ‘Majorentials’</strong>. Yep… that sort of works. Kind of. A bit.</em></p>
<p><em>Please note: the selections below are by no means a guaranteed source of points! I am looking at players with under 2% ownership, so that in itself should tell you that they’re a touch risky. But it can often be fun (and occasionally rewarding) to go with some research or just a bit of a hunch and enjoy the ‘Majorential’ ride.</em></p>

<h3><strong>Tosin Adarabioyo (£4.5m). Ownership 0.5%:</strong></h3>
<p>Yes, I am bringing up a defender for a team odds-on to be relegated as a viable option. But with an ownership of just 0.5%, Adarabioyo certainly fulfils the criteria of a ‘Majorential’ pick. So hear me out…</p>
<p>Firstly, Fulham have a double Gameweek in 24. Whilst the Everton game is unlikely to yield a clean sheet, the other game at Burnley may well do. Burnley are particularly weak as an attacking threat, having amassed the lowest number of goals in the league this season with 14.</p>
<p>And Fulham are no longer whipping boys by any stretch of the imagination. They have kept two clean sheets in their last four games and have only conceded nine goals in their last ten.</p>
<p>In terms of Adarabioyo himself, the towering defender is 5<sup>th</sup> amongst defenders over the last five gameweeks for expected goals (xG) (see below). He has had three shots over the last five gameweeks, hitting the target twice, giving him an xG of 0.94 according to our <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/">OPTA stats tool</a>. Meaning he should have scored one! Almost. Although he is yet to register his first Premier League goal, having not missed a minute of league football yet this season, the 6ft 5” centre back has often looked threatening from set pieces. Surely that first goal is not far away.</p>

<p><strong>Upsides: Double Gameweek 24, followed by Sheffield Utd at home in Gameweek 25. He’s cheap. And he’s huge. He definitely has a fixture in Gameweek 29. Yes, we do need to think that far ahead.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Downsides: He plays for Fulham.</strong></p>

<h3><strong>Ross Barkley (£5.9m). Ownership 0.9%:</strong></h3>
<p>If it’s a cheap midfielder you’re after as a big differential, then you could certainly do worse than looking at Ross Barkley. Having burst onto the scene with Aston Villa with a goal on debut in the 7-2 win over Liverpool, Barkley followed that up with a late winner vs Leicester in his next game.</p>
<p>The man on loan from Chelsea has looked reborn in the West Midlands, although has been building his match fitness back up of late, having missed two months with a hamstring injury.</p>
<p>As you can see below, Barkley’s non-penalty xG ranks pretty well amongst the mid-to-low-priced midfielders; with 1.52 over the past five gameweeks. That means he is coming in higher than more popular picks such as <strong>Phil Foden</strong>, <strong>Bukayo Saka</strong> and <strong>Mason Mount</strong>. There is also every chance he could be on penalties, with Villa struggling for a regular taker whilst <strong>Anwar El Ghazi</strong> is mostly warming the bench.</p>

<p>The midfielder has never been afraid to have a pop at goal, although his ratio of 3/12 shots on target of late is perhaps a concern. But with his match fitness now pretty much back to top levels, perhaps he can start finishing a few more of those chances.</p>
<p>Villa, of course, have some fixtures to catch up on. They look likely to have a double Gameweek 26, and there is talk that they could have another in either Gameweek 27 or 28. Their game against Tottenham could also potentially be moved into Gameweek 29, so there could be some reward in owning some of their assets in the coming weeks.</p>

<p><strong>Upsides: Plenty of fixtures coming up. Nailed-on to start. Possibility of penalty-taking duties. Absolutely loves a dig.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Downsides: A lot of his shots are from long range. Potentially blocks a Villa spot, if you’re more keen on the obvious picks such as Martinez, Grealish and Watkins.</strong></p>

<h3><strong>Bernardo Silva (£7.4m). Ownership 1.0%:</strong></h3>
<p>For those with a City spot to spare, perhaps Bernardo Silva could be worth a punt. The Portuguese wizard is a joy to watch with the ball at his feet, with the inherent ability to create a goal out of nothing.</p>

<p>Despite only being owned by 1% of FPL managers, Silva ranks highly among ‘creativity’ <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> over the last 5 gameweeks, coming in just below the much more highly owned <strong>James Maddison </strong>(16.2%).</p>
<p>‘Bilva’ has also attempted seven shots in his last six appearances, hitting the target on four occasions. With one goal and three assists during that period, and with City’s favourable upcoming fixture list, he could just be a player that could explode and provide some high returns.</p>

<p><strong>Upsides: He plays for free-scoring Man City. Very creative. Capable of wonder goals/assists. An absolute joy to watch.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Downsides: Rotation-risk. Could play a deeper role, depending on how the Pep Roulette wheel has spun that day. Takes up a Man City spot.</strong></p>
<p>For what it’s worth, the worry that your team is too ‘template’ to be able to gain ground on your rivals is often overblown in my opinion. You can improve your rank consistently and steadily by making intelligent, informed decisions and allowing those around you to make mistakes.</p>
<p>But for those looking to approach the game in a fun and risky way, picking the odd ‘Majorential’ can certainly add to your enjoyment of the game. And when they do come off, it does give you a great feeling!</p>
