FPL Gameweek 12 Recap
Consistent Salah (£13.0m) returned again, but it’s the wing backs that are returning the big points.
Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool just keep plugging away and I expect the gap over the rest to widen over the Christmas period.
Salah (£13.0m) returned again and was unlucky not to pick up more in the game, with a few reasonable chances and Jota (£7.5m) not converting his assist.
Other than his teammate Mane (£11.9m), who is now the second highest scoring midfielder, no other premium looks worth it.
Who to target
The new manager bounce was strong this week and some of the traditional strong teams look like easy targets at the moment.
Both Leicester and Manchester United are struggling to keep clean sheets. Newcastle look just as leaky as they were before. Brentford don’t look much better and Everton look like a Championship team.
Captaincy: How Have we Done to Date?
Salah (£13.0m) is just so reliable and with an effective ownership of close to 200%, you get punished if he does anything when you go against him. It doesn’t really matter if he blanks.
This week is was all about the wing-backs. It’s looking like going big in defence is the way to go, with Salah (£13.0m) and budget attackers.

FPL Gameweek 13 Captain Twitter Poll
Who do my Twitter followers think is the best FPL Gameweek 13 captain?
Aubameyang (£9.9m) has scored three goals and made an assist at home and now faces a leaky Newcastle defence. Let’s just hope he doesn’t get another penalty.
Salah (£13.0m) has scored five goals and created one assist at home against Southampton, it’s clear that he favours playing them at Anfield.
Kane (£12.2m) has scored a hat trick away to Burnley in the past, but we’re going to need to see a lot more from him in the Premier League before we trust him with the armband.
Cancelo (£6.6m) doesn’t have the most exciting record, but if he keeps a clean sheet he only needs one attacking return to haul.
Chillwell (£6.0m) the same applies for him.
Alexander-Arnold (£7.8m) and him.
Son (£10.4m) has scored the majority of his goals against Burnley at their ground.
Vardy (£10.6m) is a forgotten man given Leicester’s form. However, if you’ve held him this long then this isn’t really the fixture to be selling him. Four of his goals against Watford have been scored at home.
