FPL Double Gameweek 27 Recap

The Challengers – both Man United and Leicester got back to winning ways as they look to cement a top four place. The relentless Chelsea are right on their heels though.

The Elite – City’s winning streak finally came to an end and it just had to be against United! It was a minor blip though and they got back to winning ways against Southampton, albeit without keeping a clean sheet (CS), as the defensive rotation causes problems.

The Premiums Salah (£12.5m) blanked again, but Fernandes (£11.5m) punished his sellers thanks to another penalty and bonus points. The week was Kane’s (£11.3m) though with a 19-point mega haul, closely followed by De Bruyne (£11.8m) with 16 (although he wasn’t the top scoring City asset).

Who to target – Sheffield United look dead and buried now, Leeds continue to struggle to defend against set pieces and Newcastle look vulnerable.

How have we done to date?

FPL Gameweek 28 Captain - Our Performance

Southampton has conceded the fourth highest amount of BC (2.43), the most goals per game (2.86) and haven’t kept a CS in their last nine games. This is the fixture that you’d want your captain to feature in. Furthermore, if they play McCarthy (£4.5m) he currently has the worst xG prevented (-5.90) in the league.

It was the right call, but you can’t predict Pep roulette. It wasn’t to be for Sterling (£11.6m) he had his chances against United, and if he would have featured against Southampton, then even he would have scored (or would he?). Gündogan (£6.2m) did bits, but De Bruyne (£11.8m) overshadowed him. City’s CS run also appears to have dried up and only one defender appears to be nailed.

Calvert-Lewin (£7.7m) scored from a Richarlison (£7.9m) assist for those considering ditching Calvert-Lewin. De Bruyne (£11.8m) and Sterling (£11.6m) picked up a goal and assist each. Fernandes (£11.5m) only came on at half time and still picked up an assist and two bonus points. Bamford (£6.8m) scored, however he will find it a lot tougher this time round against Tuchel’s side. The fit again Zaha (£7.1m) racked up 18-points, however this current West Brom side are a lot more resolute. Sheffield Wednesday fan, Vardy (£10.2m) enjoyed scoring against United. Kane (£11.3m) and Son (£9.6m) picked up a goal and assist each, although Kane appears to have found a new BFF now. Salah (£12.5m) picked up a goal and an assist to come away with 14-points. That was when Wolves were struggling defensively and Liverpool were performing. A lot has changed since then.

  • Kane (£11.3m) has an immense record in this North London derby, especially considering the number of games played.
  • Both De Bruyne (£11.8m) and Sterling (£11.6m) have an excellent record against Fulham although Sterling hasn’t returned away from home against them.
  • All of Aubameyang’s (£11.4m) returns against Spurs have come at home.
  • Salah (£12.5m) picked up a goal and an assist in his first away game against Wolves and his last home game with blanks in the three games between them.
  •  Vardy (£10.2m) hasn’t scored at home against Sheffield United yet, and he’s struggling to score from open play this season.
  •  Son (£9.5m) has never scored away to Arsenal before.

The records of the other players aren't worth discussing.
