Gameweek 9 Review
Another decent week and the first time this season that I've had back-to-back good weeks. A score of 66 points was enough to move me from 3.5m to 3.1m overall rank and I've now risen over a million places in two gameweeks - progress at last! This despite a one-point captain in Jack Grealish (£7.6m) as I decided to keep Mohamed Salah (£12.2m) rather than bring in and captain Bruno Fernandes (£10.8m) for his 11 points, as many did. My three defenders all kept clean sheets this week which was nice, the Spurs duo kept ticking along and my new signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.8m) got a 13 point haul (so this is what its like to own him!). Here are my points in full:

Gameweek 10 Preview
Firstly, as always, let's look at the fixtures sorted best to worst over the next four weeks from the Hub's Fixture Ticker.

Hub Fixture Ticker - next four
As we can see, Manchester City's heavily trailed good fixture run is finally upon us, the problem being that they haven't really shown any form to date. Then come Jamie Vardy's Leicester City followed by a few less interesting teams. At the other end of the scale, Tottenham's tough fixtures continue for a while yet although, as we saw last weekend, the likes of Son and Kane are still capable of scoring in these fixtures.
This is my team for Gameweek 10 as it stands:

Very unlucky with the Grealish pick for Captain! He could’ve easily scored (penalty) and had 2 more assists if not for the lousy Watkins misses. On the other hand, Bruno’s retaken penalty saved his captainers and whiped out your Johnstone’s CS. Double Wammy! But it is recommendable that you remained patient with Mo Salah while most other managers dumped him, hopefully he will reward you with that trust.
No wonder you are saving your transfer, your wishlist is so thin!
With KdB rested in the CL I feel he can go big in GW10, any thoughts?
Yeah, KDB is always the danger, just need City to show a bit of form – these fixtures may well kick start that though.
Nick Pope’s injury makes KdB more and more desirable…
The injury doesn’t sound quite so definitive in Dyche’s latest quotes
Sleeping on Bruno is a big big mistake. That is all.
Yeah, I assume you posted this after his brace last night! He does look great at the moment
Great move Matt! Any thoughts on replacing Kane with Vardy? And who would you captain out of the two?
A. Vardy vs Fulham (H)
B. Rested KDB vs Burnley (H) who looks more organised with Ben Mee back now.
Thanks !
A
Hmm, I think I would probably captain Vardy this week out of those
Hi Matthew.
Would you be brave and do Kane > Vardy (C) vs Fulham and the week after Vardy > Aguero (c) vs Fulham. Cheers , big fan !
Sounds like a very good move.
I wonder what Matthew thinks about that.
My pre-deadline update (above) probably answers that (or at least the first part!)

Nice round last week! As a fellow WC holder (I’ll wait until the last minute or until dgw fixtures are announced perhaps) – I am a little surprised at you not taking many short term punts between now and the end of the calendar year. Why is this? Holding the WC is a huge benefit but being able to take short term punts on mini fixture runs without having to commit to the player long term is also a huge benefit over other players. At your OR I’m surprised you aren’t taking advantage of this as it represents a great chance to claw your way back into contention.
Cheers
Hopefully you’ll approve of my transfer decision this week then!
Nice one – potentially high rewards!
