Former HOF Number 1 FPL Manager Richard Clarke is an FPL veteran and has one of the most enviable best records out there, notching 2 top 500 finishes, 8 top 10k finishes and has never finished outside the top 0.5% in every single one of his 14 seasons. Rich will be revealing his team on a weekly basis in 2020/21 season; providing observations and strategy comment where appropriate.

Fantasy Premier League Tips GW10

Rich's FPL record

Objective

After writing a series of 'Vet's guides' over the last two seasons, I have decided to reveal my team for Hub members on a weekly basis. My management style is fixtures/eye test based, so my articles won't be too stats heavy.  I aim to make them quick and easy to consume alongside some of the excellent analytical tools on the Hub.

I'm happy to answer members questions after the reveal is published.  Please ping me a question in the comments and I'll try to help.

Gameweek 9 Performance: 89 points

FPL Tips Gameweek 10

Rich's Gameweek 9 Points

General Observations since last week

Gameweek 9 was a week with a huge variance of scores across the FPL game.

Coming out of the international break, fantasy managers were faced with weakened squads and compromised benches.  Many had the key decision on whether to sell Mohamed Salah after his Covid diagnosis.

This decision, and the subsequent decision on who to transfer in and captain, made a pivotal difference to scores and we saw some big rises and falls in overall ranking.

Making late transfers was paramount last week and is the recommended behaviour going forward into the busiest period of the season.

My Team

I had a fantastic week last week. 89 points  giving me my second >800k rank rise in succession to end the week at 583k overall.

Two weeks ago I was at 2.2m, which should give encouragement to many fantasy managers that big moves can be made with just a couple of strong weeks.

Having watched nearly all the games, I can't really remember anything going too wrong across my team, with almost all of them returning.  Only Andy Robertson's 12-pointer felt like it hurt my rank. These weeks are few and far between and need to be savoured.

The strongly recommended Bruno Fernandes (c) transfer paid handsomely, but the support from my more minor players was more pleasing in a way - the likes of Charlie Taylor, Ezri Konsa, Alex McCarthy and Che Adams all contributing with returns and bonus.

I can feel my enthusiasm rising now after rising 1.6m places in two game weeks! The challenge now is to consolidate and build patiently from there towards the Top 100k by Christmas..
