Gameweek 11 FPL Differentials

The Defender Differential – Stuart Dallas £4.5, 6.2% owned

Using the Hubs OPTA stats tool we can see that Dallas is the highest scoring defender for Leeds so far this season with 38 points, having started every Gameweek so far this season. However, Dallas has an expected points of 52 this season which would give the defender over five points on average per Gameweek. One of the reasons for his high returns is the amount of chances Dallas creates for teammates. Dallas has made seven key passes and created two big chances which is second in the team behind teammate Ayling who has made 11 key passes and created three big chances. However, it is the goal threat that makes Dallas a more favourable option over Ayling with seven shots on target this season which is more than the rest of the Leeds defence have had combined so far this season. This indicates that Dallas has the most chance of attacking returns within the Leeds defence.

Leeds Defenders – Expected Points this Season

Using the Fantasy Football Hub’s Fixture Ticker Leeds rank only 5th for defensive fixtures over the next five Gameweeks. This low rank is due to the fixtures being split with Chelsea and Manchester United away, however includes plum home fixtures against West Ham, Newcastle and Burnley. These three teams rank in the bottom nine teams for goals scored in the past five Gameweeks with 12 goals scored from the 15 games they have played combined. It is worth rotating Dallas during those more difficult fixtures, however it is possible for him to get attacking returns with how far forward Dallas has played during recent Gameweeks. In the three more favourable fixtures, there is a chance for Dallas to continue on his points scoring run and even reach his higher predicted statistics of five points per game and so be a good differential for Fantasy Premier League managers.

The Midfielder Differential – Riyad Mahrez – £8.2m, 3.2% owned

Pep Guardiola has said in numerous recent interviews that if a player plays well that have a good chance of keeping their place. Of course not every word that Guardiola says comes true, however even with the occasional rotation on the form that Mahrez is in, the Algerian winger could provide a strong differential in the upcoming Gameweeks with his form. Kevin De Bruyne is the most owned asset for Manchester City with 19.6% ownership, however, during this season Mahrez has produced some statistics that could prove he is worth persevering with. Using the Hub’s OPTA stats the Algerian has had the most shots inside the box so far this season for Manchester City, the most shots on target as well as making the second most key passes and having the highest expected goals (not including penalties).

Manchester City Midfielders – Shots inside the box

Manchester City are coming off the back of a 5-0 win over Burnley which could mean that they have finally found their form after scoring just 10 goals in the opening nine Gameweeks of the season. The upcoming fixtures could help them continue this form with away fixtures against Manchester United and Southampton in-between more favourable home matches against Fulham, West Brom and Newcastle all of which are in the bottom seven in the Premier League. On top of this, all these teams have conceded a minimum of of 1.5 goals per game so far this season with Fulham and West Brom being joint for goals conceded this season with 18. This could indicate there is potential for Mahrez to continue the form and get amongst the goals which should flow for Manchester City over the upcoming fixtures

The Forward Differential – Che Adams – £5.9m, 5.1% owned

When Danny Ings got injured for Southampton, many wondered if Southampton would not be as strong a team. Since then Southampton have picked up four points and scored five goals in three games against Newcastle, Wolves and Manchester United. Che Adams has been the highest scoring Southampton player in this run of three fixtures with sixteen points adding onto the 24 points he scored in the three Gameweeks before. This makes him the joint third highest scoring forward in the last five Gameweeks ahead of both Kane and Vardy. One of the reasons for this is how creative Adams has been for Southampton. Che Adams has made seven key passes in the previous five Gameweeks only one behind leaders Abraham and Kane with eight. This shows that Adams not only has goal threat with his two goals but also assist potential with two assists in the past five Gameweeks.

Forwards – Points in the Last 5 Gameweeks

The upcoming fixtures for Che Adams and Southampton are also favourable. With Danny Ings potentially returning from injury during this run as well, this could help Che Adams to get back to the goals and assists which the English forward has returned in five of the last six Gameweeks. These fixtures include home matches against Sheffield United and Manchester City, however, the more favourable away fixtures come against Arsenal, Brighton and Fulham. Southampton have shown they can score against any team with two against Tottenham, three against Chelsea and two against Manchester United and so even the potentially more difficult fixtures could return points for managers.
