Who is the best FPL Blank Gameweek 33 captain? Our resident FPL captaincy expert Chris Tan takes a close look at the fixtures, poll and stats breakdown before concluding on his best pick for the armband.
FPL Double Gameweek 32 Recap
The Challengers – Man United continue their impressive run, but Fernandes (£11.6m) is no longer their talisman. Is it madness to consider Greenwood (£7.1m), as a viable replacement? With the ESL joke out of the picture, the race for the final top four places is heating up.
The Elite – this is being drafted during the Manchester City game where the score is currently 1-1 despite them fielding their A team (in the absence of the injured De Bruyne).
The Premiums – Fernandes (£11.6m) was a peripheral figure again and Salah (£12.5m) got a 19 minute cameo. Kane (£11.8m) started the week off on fire, but worryingly picked up an ankle injury. With Mourinho out of the picture it looks like Spurs are trying to return to their free flowing ways with Son (£9.5m) matching Kane in points.
Who to target – they didn’t play this week, but Crystal Palace look to be on the beach. The injuries have finally taken their toll and West Ham are conceding a worrying amount lately. The Southampton defence never fill me with confidence either.
How have we done to date?
It wasn’t really the week for a punt given that Spurs had the additional game. Kane (£11.8m) captainers were bitterly unlucky, on current form it’s likely he would have added more returns against Southampton.
FPL Gameweek 33 Captain - The Fixtures
Gameweek 33 fixtures are primarily the reverse fixtures from Gameweek 14 with two fixtures from Gameweek 16 (Liverpool v Newcastle and Leicester v Crystal Palace):
A lot of the players that performed well are out of the picture now, however Fernandes (£11.6m) recorded a 17 point haul for those with an itchy finger.

Who do my Twitter followers think is the best FPL Gameweek 33 captain?
Old Hunting Ground – do any of the likely lads have a good record vs their opposition?
- It was just one game, and of course there was a penalty, but Fernandes (£11.6m) exploded in the reverse fixture. He hasn’t looked the same with Pogba in the side though and Bielsa has shown a willingness to adjust tactically lately.
- Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m) is determined to show Southgate what he’s missing. He’s picked up an assist and two clean sheets (CS) in three home games against Newcastle.
- Salah (£12.5m) has three goals and an assist from three home games against Newcastle.
- Vardy (£10.1m) doesn’t have an amazing record against Crystal Palace, but he did score a brace against them at home last season and a goal away.
The records of the other candidate isn't worth discussing.
