Matthew Penycae is arguably the best FPL manager in the world with three top 500 finishes, a further six top 10k finishes and he has never finished outside the top 20k in ten seasons. Every week Matthew writes his FPL Team Reveal article detailing his team, captain and plans for the coming gameweek exclusively for Fantasy Football Hub members.

Gameweek 21 Review

A second post wildcard red arrow as a score of 48 points dropped me from 255k to 309k overall. I think that the main problem for me was Vardy's absence, which meant (i) many people got Cantwell's 10 points off the bench which I didn't and (ii) many people had either Salah or Mané coming in as vice captain, whereas I had De Bruyne's 2 points as I was a little concerned that one of the Liverpool attackers could have been rested. I also got a minus score from Rico which didn't help, with most of my non-Liverpool points coming from Grealish and Ings.

Gameweek 22 Plans

Having saved last week, I now have two free transfers to use, and my team currently looks like this:

I think the team looks OK as is, with, most players either having good form or a good fixture, or a bit of both. The 'elephant in the room' here is probably my goalkeeper, Ramsdale. I was seduced by Bournemouth's good fixtures when I picked my wildcard team, and also limited by what I could afford, but Bournemouth's form has continued to plummet in the last two games. The fact that I also have Rico doesn't help. So that's probably one area of concern.

The other obvious consideration is the upcoming Liverpool / West Ham double Gameweek in GW24.
