Hi everyone! First of all, Happy New Year! Secondly, I am starting a new Preview and Predictions series which I will be posting before each Gameweek. I will also include players to consider for your FPL team.

Brighton vs Bournemouth:

The Cherries will be looking for another win after they ran out as late winners against Everton on the weekend while Brighton will be looking for their fourth successive clean sheet at home and continue their impressive start to life in the Premier League under Chris Hughton. I do think Brighton will keep another clean sheet at home but their lack of attacking threat could see Bournemouth keeping one too

Score Prediction: 0-0

Players to consider:Ryan Fraser(5.1),  Mat Ryan(4.5)

Burnley vs Liverpool:

This year’s surprise package will be looking for yet another clean sheet which would see them go to 11, on level with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. They face an attacking Liverpool side without their main man Mohamed Salah(10.1) and Phillipe Coutinho(9.2) also remains a doubt for the game with the Barcelona rumours spreading rapidly. I think it will be a close game and Burnley have an impressive record against Liverpool, so I am going for a draw.

Score Prediction: 1-1

Players to consider: Nick Pope(4.8), Andrew Robertson(4.6)

Leicester vs Huddersfield:

With three consecutive draws, David Wagner’s Huddersfield will be aiming for all three points against a Leicester side who are themselves without a win in four. Claude Puel’s side looked good vs Liverpool with Riyad Mahrez(8.5) and Jamie Vardy(8.6) combining again to give us all a sense of nostalgia.

Score Prediction: 2-0

Players to Consider: Collin Quaner(4.6), Riyad Mahrez(8.5)

Stoke vs Newcastle:

Is it time to go for Mark Hughes? Stoke have looked very poor recently and have the least number of clean sheets in the league. On the contrary, Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle have looked a resurgent side and will be looking for all three points here.

Score Prediction: 1-2

Players to consider: Paul Dummett(4.2), Choupo Moting(5.4)

Everton vs Manchester United:

Everton have definitely looked like the top 4 challengers that they were tipped to be under Sam Allardyce. He has lost just once since his appointment and Everton will look to keep it that way. Manchester United on the other hand, have fallen into a bit of a slump recently and their troubles might just go on with both Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic sidelined with injuries. Still, nobody can deny the talent in this United squad and I think that they will get a narrow victory.

Score Prediction: 1-2

Players to consider: Jesse Lingard(6.1), Jonjoe Kenny(4.6)

Southampton vs Crystal Palace:

The Eagles are flying high after being the first team to stop Manchester City scoring in the Premier League on Sunday. They definitely looked settled at the back even with the early departure of Scott Dann(4.7). Southampton are without win in the last 8 but on the back of a good away draw against Manchester United.

Score Prediction: 0-2

Players to consider: Sofiane Boufal(5.7), Wilfried Zaha(6.9)

Swansea vs Spurs:

Harry Kane. From an FPL point of view, this game is all about him. He’s looking for yet another record of three consecutive hattricks which looks very possible on paper. Swansea welcomed their new boss, Carlos Carvalhal to the premier league with a 2-1 win over Watford. With Kyle Naughton(4.6) suspended, I think Spurs will cruise to victory in the first game of their double gameweek.

Score Prediction: 0-3

Players to consider: Harry Kane(12.8), Luciano Narsingh(4.7)

West Ham vs West Brom:

In the first game of their double gameweek, West Ham will be looking for another win under David Moyes while West Brom who are on the back of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal, will be looking to stop West Ham’s attacking prowess.

Score Prediction: 2-0

Players to consider: Marko Arnautovic(6.9), Ben Foster(4.4)

Manchester City vs Watford:

Manchester City are on the back of a disappointing but lucky 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace which saw their run of 18 consecutive victories come to an end. But they should be able to overcome Marco Silva’s out of form Watford side.

Score Prediction: 3-0

Players to consider: Ilkay Gundogan(5.3), Marvin Zeegelaar(4.4)

Arsenal vs Chelsea:

The highlight game of the week always promises goals and there are predicted to be a lot of them. Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing draw against West Brom while Chelsea will be looking to close the gap to the runaway leaders, Manchester City. It will be a close game but I think Chelsea will manage to win.

Score Prediction: 1-2

Players to consider: Eden Hazard(10.7), Shkodran Mustafi(5.4)

Spurs vs West Ham:

In the final match of the week, Spurs will be looking to win yet another game but will face stern competition from the in form West Ham. One thing’s for sure, this game certainly promises goals and I feel that both sides will score.

Score Prediction: 3-1

Players to consider: Heung Min Son(8.1), Manuel Lanzini(6.8)

Hope you all enjoyed this article and look out for this weekly series for green arrows!
