For more details on the all important rules, scoring system and daily fantasy strategy, head over to our preview published just a few weeks ago – it’s a must for any newbies to get ahead of the game!
Star Man: Jamie Vardy (vs Norwich)
He may be the most expensive acquisition from Saturday’s slate, with £23 of the £100 salary budget used up on him, but Jamie Vardy is definitely the man needed to lead the squad. His form is undeniable: he is on an eight game scoring streak, and more recently has grabbed five goals and one assist from his last four appearances.
While many teams have been involved in Champions League or Europa League action, and looking ahead to League Cup Quarter Finals next week, Vardy is well rested here after a busy period of games. He has spot kick duty too, and is up against a frail Norwich defence who’ve conceded a record six penalties this season so far.
As well as earning potential for goals and assists, there’s also shots on goal to strengthen his scoring tally, worth 5 points. Vardy has taken more shots on target (10) than any other player in the Premier League over the last four fixtures, with the next nearest, Raul Jimenez, having only had seven.
Goals Galore: Leicester (vs Norwich)
That questionable Norwich defence has to be a big target beyond just our star man Jamie Vardy, and a Leicester side who are high on confidence will take no prisoners. Leicester have won their last eight league games, scoring on average three goals per game. Norwich have conceded 13 goals in the same period.
James Maddison is a worthy deputy to Vardy: he has created 13 chances in his last four games, only behind Kevin De Bruyne, each of those earning 3 points in Paddy Power’s scoring format. Three of those were classified as big chances, leading to two assists in this period, as well as his goal against Watford.
Kelechi Iheanacho has deservedly broken into this Leicester side, and the attack looks even more threatening with him sitting alongside Vardy. In two league appearances, he has grabbed one goal and one assist, and looks set for another start this weekend. Youri Tielemans has had a quiet couple of games, but could be a bargain at just £11 if he can deliver an attacking return.
Clean Sheet Stack: Chelsea (vs Bournemouth)
According to the bookies, Chelsea have a very good chance of keeping a clean sheet this weekend. All three of their clean sheets have come on home turf this season, and a win looks likely against a Bournemouth side who are in a five game losing streak.
Winning the game gives a 7 point bonus for goalkeepers, plus there’s 10 points for a shut-out. Kepa Arrizabalaga has made 11 saves in his last four games, with each one worth 3 points. The Cherries have failed to score in their last two games, and could be missing key personnel Callum Wilson and Josh King once again.
Antonio Rudiger is kindly priced at £8: he has recently made his way back into the side following a lengthy injury lay-off. He carries plenty of aerial threat, with three goals from his last two seasons. Reece James is expected to come back in at right-back: he’s started all of Chelsea’s last three games, notching an assist against Aston Villa.
Here’s how the Daily Fantasy Tipster lines up for Gameweek 17 in the £12,000 Saturday EPL Wonder Strike. It’s a formation of seven players, with four attackers and three defensive, including the goalkeeper.
