Paddy Power have just launched their brand new daily fantasy game, with cash prizes on offer every single day of Premier League action!
There’s some huge prizes on offer, plus head-to-head contests and you can even set up competitions against your mates too!
Here at Fantasy Football Hub, we are going to be getting involved in the big money contests and sharing plenty of tips to help you play and win too. Advice that’s also relevant to those of you playing FPL.
We are entering the Blue Ribbon tournament for Gameweek 9 – the £15K Saturday EPL Wonder Strike. There’s £15,000 of prizes guaranteed to be won, with 1st place scooping a tidy £2,500.
Depending on what time kick-off you go for, there are various different entries, but they all have the same rules. Like any new game, having a clear grasp of the rules is vital to getting an edge over your rivals.
There’s £100 salary budget, with seven players to select (one goalkeeper, two defenders, four midfielders/forwards). The big name players face big prices, so it’s a challenge to get the balance right.
As well as gaining points for goals, assists and clean sheets, players are awarded points for blocked shots, chances created, clearances, interceptions, shots on goal and tackles.
Goalkeepers are deducted points for each goal conceded but can accrue big points per save and for being on the winning team. Some tactical decisions could come into play here.
£15K Sat EPL Wonder Strike (£2.5K to 1st)
The tournament we’ll be covering here is for the seven games from the 3pm kick-offs on Saturday, with prize money given out to the top 1072 entrants. Finishing in the prize spots will guarantee you at least double the very reasonable £4 entry fee.
Star Man: Chelsea (vs Newcastle) – Mason Mount
Chelsea have arguably the most straightforward game of the weekend, and they are expected to brush aside Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. With budget a big challenge in Paddy Power Daily Fantasy, it’s Mason Mount who is selected as our Star Man, at a mere £17 salary.
Don’t let that low price tag deter you from investing. Around twelve players have higher salary demands than Mount but he’s the one that could easily end up on top by the end of play on Saturday. He already has four goals and one assist this season and it’s his style of play pressurising defences that really captures our interest this weekend.
Newcastle don’t have the worst defensive record, but they have conceded eight goals over the course of their last four games, plus ten big chances. Mount won’t need many opportunities to capitalise on any poor defending decisions for our Gameweek 9 daily fantasy teams.
Goals Galore: Bournemouth (vs Norwich) – Callum Wilson, Josh King, Harry Wilson
Bournemouth have the best fixture from an attacking perspective this weekend, when a leaky Norwich defence visit the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth have looked excellent going forward this season, with 12 big chances created in their last four games. Norwich have conceded a league high 12 big chances in the same time frame.
Callum Wilson has been fantasy gold this season, despite being underrated and losing ownership in the official game. It’s seven returns in eight for him now, plus eight shots on target in his last four games. Hopefully there’s more clinical finishing here. Josh King has had a reasonable start to the season, with two goals and three assists to date. All but one of those attacking returns has come at home and the fact that he’s on penalties further bolsters our interest.
Harry Wilson is more of an outside punt, but a Cherries triple up in this game seemed like a no-brainer. With Ryan Fraser out of favour, Wilson seemed the next best route into this attack. He’s got three goals from seven games and looks to be an exciting young talent in Eddie Howe’s side.
Clean Sheet Stack: Leicester (vs Burnley) – Ricardo Pereira, Ben Chilwell, Kasper Schmeichel
Leicester have been posting remarkable numbers this season and their inclusion within the top four of the Premier League table should come as no surprise. There’s high hopes of a clean sheet this weekend, and crucially a win for Kasper Schmeichel (worth an additional seven points) to scoop big returns this weekend.
Periera is king of the defenders this season, having scored twice already! He’s also created five chances and a total of five goal attempts. Chilwell has amassed 21 cross this season and isn’t shy of an attacking return himself on his day, having got one assist already. The bookies favour Schmeichel to keep a clean sheet and Leicester to win. If he can improve on his 22 saves for the season so far, that could further help his cause.
