<p>Many FPL managers are using their <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-free-hit-chip-in-fpl-and-how-can-we-use-it/">Free Hit chip</a> in Blank Gameweek 27. <a style="font-style: italic;" href="http://twitter.com/hollyshand">Holly Shand</a> looks at whether this is the right decision.</p>

<p>FPL Gameweek 27 presents a strange scenario where we have a Blank Gameweek for <strong>Arsenal, Chelsea</strong> and <strong>Liverpool</strong> caused by the League Cup final, and a Double Gameweek for Burnley.</p>
<p>Given that the two highest owned players in the game (<strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> and <strong>Trent Alexander-Arnold</strong>) will be unavailable for FPL managers to select, the momentum for using a Free Hit chip is gathering within the community.</p>

<h3><strong>Is Blank Gameweek 27 the Best Time to use the Free Hit Chip?</strong></h3>
<p>While <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-best-fpl-chip-strategy-gameweeks-25-30/">chip strategy</a> has become more team-dependant than ever this season, Blank Gameweek 27 provides a clear opportunity to use a Free Hit chip. It&#8217;s generally advantageous to use it in a Blank Gameweek if you have arrived at it unprepared and would struggle to field a full eleven without a significant points hit.</p>
<p>Obviously a Free Hit could also effectively be used in a Double Gameweek as a more attacking move, and we are still expecting a significant number of doubles towards the end of the season, with seven fixtures currently waiting to be rescheduled.</p>

<p>While it&#8217;s difficult to say for sure when the right time is to play a Free Hit chip without having a clear picture of all <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-blank-double-gameweek-guide-2021-22/">upcoming blanks and doubles</a>, we can predict other significant Blank Gameweeks in Gameweek 30 and 33 caused by the FA Cup quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.</p>
<p>This season fantasy managers have an unprecedented <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/the-second-free-hit-chip-for-fpl/">two Free Hit chips</a> and, for those still holding both, playing a Free Hit in Gameweek 27 becomes an easier decision. However, for those managers with at least four players without a <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker/">fixture</a>, it should still be a serious consideration.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-double-gameweek-28-and-29-announced-fantasy-premier-league-2021-22-fixture-updates/">announcement of FPL Double Gameweek 28 and 29 </a> last Friday further strengthens the argument to Free Hit in Gameweek 27, given that Arsenal and Liverpool both double in Gameweek 29. There&#8217;s also strong rumours circulating that Arsenal could have a Double Gameweek 28.</p>

<p>Looking at the fixture lists for these two sides, and factoring in that Arsenal are guaranteed to have a fixture in the Blank Gameweek 30, my recommendation would be to play the Free Hit chip in Gameweek 27 if you have at least four players from these two sides, since they are long-term holds.</p>

<h3>Who are the Best Free Hit Options in FPL Gameweek 27?</h3>
<p>Using the Free Hit chip in Gameweek 27 presents an excellent opportunity to load up on some form players who have excellent fixtures. A triple up on <strong>Burnley </strong>makes most sense since they are the only side who have two fixtures this week, against Leicester City and Crystal Palace.</p>
<p>New signing <strong>Wout Weghorst (£6.5m) </strong>has hit the ground running, with one goal and two assists from his opening four appearances. He&#8217;s had nine shots on goal over this period. His opponents have just one clean sheet between them over the last four, conceding a combined 15 goals.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, I&#8217;d be inclined to double up on the defence, with <strong>Nick Pope (£5.4m) </strong>between the sticks. He&#8217;s kept three clean sheets over the last four gameweeks to date, having made an impressive 18 saves over that period &#8211; he looks to be back to his brilliant best!</p>

<p>With injuries in the Burnley back-line, it&#8217;s difficult to predict who will be fit to play 180 minutes. <strong>Ben Mee (£4.8m) </strong>is the obvious candidate and he has two goals this season, but going with <strong>Connor Roberts (£4.5m) </strong>could save vital funds.</p>
<p>Away from Burnley, we see a favourable fixture for some of the form teams in the Premier League right now: Southampton host Norwich, Manchester United meet Watford at Old Trafford, while Manchester City travel to a leaky Everton and Spurs are away at Leeds United.</p>
<p>Spurs stole the show in Gameweek 26 with their impressive victory at Manchester City, with <strong>Harry Kane (£12.2m) </strong>playing a crucial role. After some weeks underperforming, he finally lived up to his underlying statistics. He&#8217;s had 14 shots over his last four games, converting four big chances to two goals.</p>

<p><strong>Son Heung-Min (£10.7m) </strong>is back in the conversation too, after demonstrating his form at the weekend. He&#8217;s had eight key passes, with three big chances created delivering two assists. It was reassuring to see these two linking up and adds impetuous to selecting them both on a Free Hit. Leeds are conceding over three goals per game on average in recent weeks.</p>
<p><strong>Manchester United </strong>attackers are back on the agenda, after hitting two past Brighton and four against Leeds in recent games. A shift in formation has benefited<strong> Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m)</strong>, who has two goals and one assist from these appearances. With budget likely to be key on Free Hit, I would opt for him over Cristiano Ronaldo who could be rotated. He only has one goal in 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Luke Shaw (£5.0m) </strong>looks to be a mainstay at right-back once again and has two assists from his last four starts. Manchester United have kept two clean sheets over their last four gameweeks, with Shaw providing nine key passes in this time.</p>
<p>Consider <strong>Jadon Sancho (£8.9m) </strong>as a differential, who&#8217;s finally finding his feet after his big money move last summer. He&#8217;s had nine shots and eight key passes over the last four, coming away with a goal and two assists. He&#8217;s started all of the last four, playing the full 90 minutes on three of those occasions.</p>
<p><strong>Manchester City </strong>will be looking to get their title hopes back on track following defeat at the weekend and playing Everton comes at a good time: the Toffees have just one clean sheet this calendar year. <strong>Joao Cancelo (£7.1m) </strong>is a must-have, with 13 shots in this time! He&#8217;s ranked third of all players in the game.</p>

<p><strong>Raheem Sterling (£10.7m) </strong>has also impressed with six big chances the best tally of any player over the last four. He could be worth the outlay, although his minutes are sometimes inconsistent. He has the form with that hat-trick against Norwich.</p>
<p><strong>Phil Foden (£7.9m) </strong>provides a cheaper route into the Manchester City attack, having also scored against Norwich. <strong>Bernardo Silva (£7.3m) </strong>has seen an improvement in his underlying numbers, with 11 chances created in the last four and he is a regular starter in this City midfield.</p>
<p>Southampton are likely to provide us with useful budget enablers for the Free Hit. In attack, <strong>James Ward-Prowse (£6.5m) </strong>has the consistency, with two assists in recent weeks. He ranks highly for key passes with 12. <strong>Che Adams (£6.9m) </strong>has been the pick of the strikers: he has two goals and one assist in his last four.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t overlook <strong>Armando Broja (£5.4m) </strong>either, who has six goals this season. He&#8217;s had 12 shots over the last four, 10 of which have come in the box. <strong>Tino Livramento (£4.3m) </strong>is back in defence, with his second assists of the season coming against Everton last weekend.</p>
