Gameweek 15 Review

It’s Christmas...

It was a pretty good week for most. Annoyingly a lot of us took the armband off Mohamed Salah on Saturday when we saw he was benched and put it on Kevin De Bruyne; typically, in Salah's 33 minute cameo he managed to score twice, grab an assist and achieve shots bonus. De Bruyne again was disappointing only earning points for an assist and rather dubiously he was awarded man of the match but I think most of us will accept that. Liverpool kept a clean sheet in the sort of performance that makes those of us that don’t own a Liverpool defender start to worry about a run of clean sheets, especially when they are picking up assists and passing bonus. As mentioned last week Jannik Vestegaard looked great with seven points from passing and tackle bonus and again looks dangerous from every corner.

Bruno Fernandes delivered for owners on Sunday with 19 points from two goals, an assist and shots bonus. It was a tough one for those that captained Harry Kane as he earned just four points with shots bonus doubling his figure. Jamie Vardy continues to score and may have frustrated those that sold last week. Aston Villa and Martinez kept another clean sheet, their third in a row, really rewarding those that opted to bring him in with another tough one to take for owners of Guaita. Jack Grealish grabbed two assists and even achieved passing bonus - if only he’d take penalties.

Vardy keeps scoring goals, punishing those who sold him

Chelsea rounded the week off with a 3-0 win over West Ham, however it was a frustrating night for many with Kurt Zouma missing out on passing bonus with 58 passes; he did however keep a clean sheet. It was a rough night for the many that brought in Ben Chilwell as he was taken off injured after ten minutes. For those that brought in Timo Werner he again missed opportunities to score more points but did at least register an assist and grab shots bonus.

Gameweek 16 Thoughts

There are five match days in this double festive gameweek starting on Boxing Day and continuing until the 30th December. The only problem we have is with just two days between some games there could well be some rotation.
