Dan’s Transfer Targets
As we head into Gameweek 29, Former Sky Sports Fantasy Football Champion Dan Cox highlights five players for you to consider for your fantasy XI this week.
The Overhaul closes on Friday night ahead of the Sky Sports Live clash between West Ham and Fulham. But exactly what is the Overhaul?
The second Overhaul period will open after the final match of game week 27. The Overhaul will remain open for the whole of game week 28 and up until the first kick off of game week 29 on the 22nd February.
You will be able to make unlimited transfers during those periods until the first game day deadline. Once the first game day deadline of the week has passed the overhaul will expire and any additional transfers will come out of your remaining 40-player transfer limit.
Talking of transfers this is the average remaining stats –
Average Remaining Transfers
Top 10 – 12.0, Top 100 – 10.9, Top 1000 – 10.1, Top 5000 – 10.1
So essentially you can make new XI and it won’t take any transfers off your seasonal tally. But make sure you have your team set before the Friday night kick off. And personally I’d make sure your all done by 5pm.
Below are some players I think should be considered for your overhaul side and could really start your post-Overhaul run in with a bang to either cement that mini league position or make a late title charge.
Felipe Anderson ( 8.7m )
West Ham host Claudio Ranieri’s struggling Fulham side at the London Stadium and the Brazilian could be a great captaincy pick.
With eight goals, four assists and four MOTM awards he’s had a great season and currently sits on 139 points for the season making him the fourth highest point scoring midfielder. If West Ham can heap more misery on Fulham then you could be on for a great start.
Heung-min Son ( 10.6m )
Spurs travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Saturday and again I think Son is a great captaincy option.
The South Korean has been in great form this season – being directly involved in 18 goals, by scoring 11 and assisting eight. Add in his three MOTM awards and he’s accrued 132 points this season. Son has scored eight goals in his last eight games and he’s almost singlehandedly kept Tottenham in the title race.
Raul Jimenez ( 7.9m )
Raul Jimenez has been an unbelievable pick in Sky Sports Fantasy Football this season.
With nine goals, seven assists and three MOTM. What more could you want for a player priced at just 7.9m. I know it may be an unfair comparison – as he’s been injured recently, but Jimenez is only one point behind Harry Kane yet is 5.1m cheaper than the Spurs hitman.
Again a great captaincy pick for Saturday as Wolves travel to the Vitality to face Bournemouth.
And looking ahead as you always should, on Tuesday night Wolves travel to relegation threatened Huddersfield and again Jimenez is a great captaincy option.
James Maddison ( 7.6m )
Leicester have a great run of fixtures ahead and Maddison could easily rack up the points. Leicester’s fixtures are very appealing as they have nine favourable fixtures, until their final three games of the season where they then face Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.
With five goals, four assists and five MOTM awards Maddison has had a pretty good season. With 114 points I think that’s a more than fair return for a midfielder listed at just 7.6m.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ( 12.5m )
With 15 goals and five assist Aubameyang has also been having a great season.
The Gabon international is just two goals behind Mo Salah and Sergio Aguero in the race for the Golden Boot. Arsenal host Southampton on Sunday and I think he’s a great captaincy option. Especially as the other game of the day is the Liverpool v Manchester United Super Sunday clash. And I personally try to avoid a captain pick in such a big game.
