Dan’s Transfer Targets

As we head into Gameweek 14, 2016/17 Sky Sports Fantasy Football champion Dan Cox highlights five players for you to consider for your fantasy XI this week.

There is only two days of action this weekend before Premier League football is once again interrupted by another international break. But there are plenty of opportunities to grab some fantasy points.

Marko Arnautovic 10.1m

I tipped him last week and he delivered – so I’m doing so again. Marko Arnautovic (10.1m) has been a great option this season.

Picked by just 7.1% of managers, the Austrian isn’t in an abundance of teams. That’s despite scoring his fifth goal of the season in West Ham’s 4-2 win over Burnley last weekend.

The Hammers talisman seized upon James Tarkowski’s error to score the opening goal for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and take his points tally to 53 points for the season.

West Ham’s Easy Run

Looking ahead at the fixture list, apart from a tie against Manchester City, West Ham have some favourable fixtures in the coming weeks.

Playing Huddersfield, Newcastle, Cardiff, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Watford, Southampton, Burnley and Brighton – that’s a fantastic run of games.

So a move for Arnoutivic might be a good idea and he could be someone you leave in your team for quite a while. I also think he’s a great captaincy choice for Saturday if you don’t fancy my next suggestion.

Harry Kane 13m

Spurs travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday evening and I’m hoping Harry Kane (13m) can carry on from where he left off last weekend.

Whilst Kane only scored once in the 3-2 win over Wolves, the England hitman was a constant threat. Kane netted his sixth goal of the season and could have scored even more if it wasn’t for Rui Patricio’s herorics.

The Spurs striker had six shots on target and easily achieved tier two shots bonus. I will be giving Kane the armband this weekend and hoping that he can deliver a decent haul.

Mo Salah 12.9m

Onto Sunday and it could be a demolition at Anfield. Liverpool host bottom of the table Fulham, who have conceded the most goals this season with 29.

So you could take your pick of Liverpool’s lethal attack, but for me it has to be Mo Salah (12.9m).

The Egyptian owned by 45% of teams, with five goals, four assists and two MOTM awards should add to that tally this weekend.

And it’s not just Fulham’s league position and goals against column that make me think they could be on for a bad afternoon against Liverpool.

Slavisa Jokanovic has repeatedly changed his defensive line up for each game and seems uncertain of his best defensive combination.

Eden Hazard 11.8m

Onto the first of the Sky Sports Super Sunday games and it’s Chelsea v Everton. I think it’s pretty obvious that Eden Hazard will be the most in demand player amongst managers.

The Belgian will be looking to add to his 94 points, with seven goals, four assists and three MOTM awards.

His ownership has steadily increased over the last few weeks and he now sits at 27.4% ownership, which isn’t a surprise given Hazard is the highest point scorer in the game.

Raheem Sterling 11.5m

The weekends action concludes in the second Sky Sports Super Sunday live match as Manchester City host rivals Manchester United in the 4.30 kick off.

He stole the show last weekend in the 6-1 win over Southampton and Raheem Sterling (11.5m) is a man in demand. The England international has been transferred in by 6,002 mangers this week.

Against Southampton he returned 27 points with two goals, two assists, MOTM and shots bonus. And if you’d have captained him that would have been a huge 54 points.

Sterling is now on six goals for the season and also has five assists and two MOTM to his name. He’s actually the third highest points scorer this season and finds himself only in 7.7% of teams. I think he’s criminally under owned.

Its also worth noting that since the start of last season he’s been involved in over 40 goals, thats 24 goals and 16 assists. Only Mo Salah has more with 50 from 37 goals and 13 assists.

The Stats Pack

Below are the average remaining transfers for the following brackets of teams.

Top 10 14
Top 100 19.1
Top 1,000 21
Top 5,000 22.1
