Former Sky Sports Fantasy Football champion Dan Cox brings us his latest diary, documenting the highs and lows of his Fantasy Football season.

Gameweek 27 Review

Top 5 most transferred in players during the overhaul:

  • Richarlison
  • Aguero
  • Dean Henderson
  • Baldock
  • Salah

No surprises here to be honest with Richarlison rewarding those that brought him in instantly with a 34 point captaincy on Saturday; the only reason I selected him was to box off the Saturday captaincy requirement. Aguero with a tasty home game against West Ham also looked a no brainier whilst Henderson and Baldock are cheap and good value for money with Sheffield United having a great set of fixtures from now until the end of the season.

Top 5 players transferred out:

  • Sterling
  • Traore
  • Maddison
  • Vardy
  • Soyuncu

No surprise with Sterling due to his poor form and injury but Traore is a bit of a head scratcher. He was one of the first names in my team along with Soyuncu and I think this is reflected when you see the ownership in the top 1000. Vardy and Maddison pay the price for Leicester’s downturn in form.

Top 1000 most selected

So I took all these stats on Sunday morning

Strikers

  • Aguero - 68.8%
  • Salah - 62.4%
  • Vardy - 23.5%
  • Calvert-Lewin, Ings, Jimenez - all 17%
  • Mane - 4.3%

Midfielders

  • De Bruyne - 77.7%
  • Richarlison - 65.8% (was 44.4% on Saturday before the first game )
  • Traore - 52.1%
  • Grealish - 49.3%
  • Jordan Henderson - 18%
  • Mahrez - 10.2%

Defenders

  • Alexander-Arnold - 87.9%
  • Van Dijk - 75.1%
  • Soyuncu - 61.1%
  • Baldock - 61%
  • Pereira - 17%
  • Robertson - 14.8%
  • Gomez - 9.3%

Goalkeepers

  • Dean Henderson - 59.9%
  • Alisson - 27%

So just by going with the most selected it was easy to put together a team of

Henderson

TAA VVD Soyuncu Baldock

KDB Richarlison Traore Grealish

Aguero Salah

Cost: 99.8m

I think this is a very solid team and should provide most captains over the next few gameweeks except for the Chelsea v Manchester United fixture.

The Weekend That Was

Saturday was great, as mentioned my only player Richarlison grabbed 34 points as captain. So that was a great start post overhaul.

Sunday was frustrating. I had been checking the weather in Manchester since Friday night and I did have thoughts to perhaps not start with any Manchester City players but it just wasn’t workable for me. Luckily I had Sheffield United to cover the captaincy but Manchester City v West Ham could have been a real points fest. So for me it’s definitely a case of what could have been.
