With only eight teams playing this week meant we only had 385 points scored.  Liverpool scored five past Watford to top the scoring with 113 points, which left Watford being the lowest scorers with 16 points.

Salah moves two clear at the top of the MotM charts, while Rondon picks up his fifth award to move to joint 5th spot.  Rondon has picked up two awards in the last three weeks, both times being on the losing side!!!

Not much can be taken with so few matches, but despite a heavy 5-0 defeat Watford battled hard by picking up five tackling awards.  Crystal Palace had a good return with four bonuses – with Tomkins achieving a rare shooting bonus for a defender.

This week I’m going to look a bit more closely at N.Monreal, who appears in my defenders chart:

Monreal sixth in the most points table for defenders and fifth in the points/£m, moving up to fourth based on his points/£m/game. He has started 23 games in which he has scored four goals with two assists and one MotM award. He has also picked up 14 bonuses – eight of which were tier 2 passing. As a defender when played, Arsenal have had nine clean sheets.
His underlying <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> show he has scored 9.1% of the team goals, though had 3.4% of the team’s expected goal (4 v 1.6). He has 4.5% of assists while creating 4.6% of expected (1 v 2.2).  He seems to have scored above expectation.
On the key metric of pts/£m/g is a good at 0.77, which matches above the gold standard 0.7.
However, if we look at a break-down of his points per week we see:

Monreal has missed several of recently and the last two. Arsenal next two games are home to Stoke and Southampton. In terms of ability and fixtures I would think he deserves a place in my team, however Arsenal still in the Europa League may mean he gets rested. If he is in the starting line-up in Arsenal’s next match he’ll be joining my team.
My teams
For the first team I ditched my over-haul gamble on Kenny and used a precious transfer on Wan-Bissaka after seeing him start again. I don’t expect him to play for a long run of games, but being a Palace fan would love to see a local boy come good.  Having five Liverpool players with Salah as captain meant a weekly total of 116 points, climbing just over 100 places into 245th.
My second team had six Liverpool players with Doucoure who brought home 120 points, moving up 20 places to 48th. I’ll start to transfer out these players firstly to Arsenal and then probably Spurs (after the semi-final).
The planning for the second half team meant I had nine players (with no transfers used) who scored 132 points.  They have recovered to 29th place but still some distant of the pace.
Finally
A friend of mine is running his 20th consecutive London Marathon. During this time he has raised £56,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. I would love it if anybody could tweet or post elsewhere in social media to try and make his 20th run his best fun-raiser yet.
