GW35 review

Leicester assets led by frontman Jamie Vardy propelled my differential team to its best score, barring double gameweeks, in memory.

But it wasn’t just Vardy who hauled, with the gem of a midfielder Youri Tielemans scoring his second goal since joining the Foxes. Only a few players blanked, with clean sheets for Chelsea and Crystal Palace boosting the overall total.

How the XI performed

Key: G = goal, A = assist, CS = clean sheet, MOTM = man of the match, T1T/T2T = tier-one/two tackles, T2P = tier-one/two passing, TI/2S = tier-one/two shots, TI/2SA = tier-one/two saves  (c) = captain YC = yellow card, RC = red card, OG = own goal

Kepa Arizabalaga – 8 – CS, YC

David Luiz (C) – 14 – CS

Wes Morgan – 2

Jeff Schlupp – 7 – CS

Dwight McNeil – 2

Gylfi Sigurdsson (C) – 2

Youri Tielemans – 10 – G, T1T

Wilfried Zaha – 5 – A

How my actual team compared

It was a strong week for my regular team. But a headache looms.

I stormed back into the top 150, largely thanks to Vardy’s fine form. Eden Hazard’s two goals made him a great captain, too.

But Harry Kane’s injury puts a spanner in the works, as I’ve three transfers remaining and am without City or Liverpool attackers. I could feasibly use them all this week, given on Saturday I’ll only have Wolves’ Matt Doherty playing, but I’ll see how my Leicester assets perform on Friday before assessing the nightmare!

Differential XI (under 10% ownership, not club’s most popular player)

These are my players for the gameweek ahead. I’ve plumped for some Brighton players as they play twice this week, while the rest is built around having a spread of players across the game days. Watford host Arsenal on Monday, and that’s a single game day.

Watch out for tomorrow’s early team news, with Spurs hosting Huddersfield. If he starts, Son Heung-Min is the obvious differential to Harry Kane, but I’ve a feeling he might get a rest after the midweek Champions’ League game.
