The last game week had a fairly low points score with 930. The most thrilling match may have been Liverpool beating City 4-3, but the highest performers in fantasy land were Spurs with 98 following their 4-0 thrashing of Everton (who were the lowest scores with 14) points).

A fairly unusual week, with Man City not having the most bonus awards. The tier 2 bonus was a bit more of a premium this week, though Stoke City rolled over last night to generously give Man Utd passing bonuses.

Player watch
This week I’m going to look a bit more closely at Son Heung-Min, mainly he now appears in my charts after scoring five goals in a row. The striker chart is below:

Son is currently 5th in the total points scored by strikers, 4th based on pts/£m and 7th based on pts/g/£m. I was surprised to note that he has started 16 games and made sub appearances in six other matches. He has scored eight goals with five assists and picking up three MotM awards. He has only achieved two bonsus awards, both being tier 1 shooting.
His underlying <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> show he has scored 18.2% of the team goals, though had 13.1% of the team’s shot on target. He has 11.4% of assists while creating 8.4% of chances. This suggests he is performing above expectation on the number of goals scored and assists.
On the key metric of pts/£m/g is a slightly below ideal at 0.47, which is significantly below the gold standard 0.7. Though if you only include the matches he started this would be a more healthy 0.61
However, if we look at a break-won of his points per week we see:

Son seems to have had a slow start to the season and has picked up drastically. If you thought he could keep his recent form going, then there is a case for buying. However, I would steer clear as he is scoring above expectation and won’t expect this to last long term.
My teams
Both my teams had a very difficult week again and were mainly saved due to captains having decent matches. Both teams had Christian (Chelsea defender who came on as sub for 58 minutes missing the clean sheet) and Kenny (Everton) for a combined score of zero. Both had Kane as captain for a 30 point return. The first team captained Salah over Aguero for 26 points and De Gea for the Monday night game for 18 points giving a total of 96 points – finishing the week in 119th. The second team captain KdB over Salah on the Sunday, missing out on a nice haul, though luckily Pogba put in a MotM performance for a nice finish for the game week. My main concern is Ozil who missed another game, so with few transfers will need him back on the pitch soon. The team is still bouncing around in the teens and currently lies in 16th.
