Last week I noted as the highest scoring week with 988, however some players were missing of my list and this has been adjusted to 1,005.  Despite some headline grabbing goals from the big players, this week had the lowest total points so far for the season of 938.
Man City team recorded their 3rd straight week of scoring over 100 points, while Crystal Palace was the only team to collect a single point haul of 3.

Lacazette owners can feel slightly unlucky. He is only the second player this season, to be the only player in the game to score 2 goals and not be awarded the MotM.  Midfielders only picked up two awards, their lowest since week 1.
The bonuses
The distribution of bonuses by team this week is:

There seems to be a lot of tackling bonuses given out this week with teams outside the top 7 sharing the spoils.  It’s worth noting that no tackling bonus was picked up by Man City or Arsenal, but their passing game gave them respectable returns.

There were 111 bonus points distributed this week, slightly down on last week’s total.  The points were again dominated by midfielders based on the number of appearances.

Player watch
There are several players of interest from the above table, Romeu, Otamendi, Silva and Fernandinho.  The scatter-plot below is for all players that have played a minimum of 3 games and gives the average points scored per game played.
A couple of general observations are:
<ul>
<li>Strikers seem to offer the worse value for money, though the most expensive strikers return the most points per match.</li>
<li>Defenders are currently looking better value for money than midfielders. It is worth noting that there is still very few data points so a clean sheet or two can quickly catapult your return per game.  For example Huddlesfield currently have 4 clean sheets in 6 games and unlikely to keep this up over the season.</li>

From the four players of interest Romeu, and Fernandinho maybe scoring highly on bonuses but don’t seem to be picking up points elsewhere, so will not investigate further.
Otamendi was in my initial and post overhaul drafts, but never made the final cut (which looks like a poor decision with hindsight).  He has started all 6 matches so far, scoring one goal and Man City have had 4 clean sheets.  The goal is likely to be random variance and the number of clean sheets is likely to be higher than one would normally expect.  However, even if you subtract an average of 3 points per game (18 points over 6 games), Otamendi would still be scoring highly.
David Silva has also started all 6 games for Man City and has 5 passing awards in those games with 6 assists.  Assuming, he doesn’t fall foul to Pep’s rotation policy, then he looks like a great player to have in your team.
Do I wish I had D.Silva and Otamendi in my team? Yes. Will I by buying this weekend? No, as they are away to Chelsea, I don’t have the funds for a straight swap available. I will have them on my watch-list and bring in if the opportunity arises.
My teams
My second team brought in two defensive Everton players and swapped Jesus for Aguero, however they dropped over a 1,000 places over the weekend.  My first team moved 5 places on the Saturday and dropped 100 places on the Sunday.  I transferred Jesus for Lacazette and rising 400 places on Monday night.  Just shows the rollercoaster ride during the first few weeks.
