The much hyped and drawn out Sanchez &#8211; Mkhitaryan transfer has finally happened, slower than a bunch of schoolboys swapping their Match Attax cards. So should we also be thinking about one or both of these attackers being part of our fantasy setup?
Both are classified as midfielders in the FPL game yet both can play in a variety of positions, either on the wing, up front or as a more classic No. 10. Both also look like they will be heavily involved within their respective first teams, though you never can tell what goes on in Mr. Wenger&#8217;s mind sometimes.
Firstly Alexis. His EPL record has been outstanding of late. Last season saw him amass 264 points overall, with 24 goals and 11 assists with 32 bonus points. That blew the rest of the players out the water last season, including Harry Kane. He currently would set you back £11.7 million so isn&#8217;t exactly cheap but if he hits form with Man Utd and with the likes of Pogba, Lukaku, Rashford and Martial in support the signs are good that the Chilean can yet again become a big provider in FPL.
His overall record boasts 60 goals in 122 appearances in the Premier and with 25 assists in that time. That comes to an average of five points a game before bonus points. And currently, he would be a differential with only 2.9% ownership!
Of course, we have to see how Jose &#8220;Park the Bus&#8221; Mourinho will handle Alexis in his team. However I feel the boring label is somewhat unfair to The Special One &#8211; people seem to have quickly forgotten the free-flowing and high-scoring Lampard, Cristiano, Robben, Drogba and Hazard performances of old Mourinho teams. Overall it&#8217;s a yes from me to Sanchez.
Now over to Henrikh. The Armenian captain and former Bundesliga player of the year hasn&#8217;t lived up to his expectations at Man Utd. Like another ex-Dortmund midfielder Kagawa, his intricate, skilful and decisive play has been far from apparent, too often disappearing into a football black hole.
His overlying <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> even at Dortmund, though impressive, are not as good as Alexis. In three seasons he scored 23 goals in 90 league games &#8211; a goal every four league games (vs a goal every other game for Sanchez). Of course, his rate has dropped even further at Man Utd with five goals over his 39 game spell.
His wider contribution at Dortmund was certainly up there with the best midfielders, providing 29 assists in the league (one every three games) and this is what Wenger will hope to capitalise on. A doubt though remains on his ability to play in the EPL given it is a physically tougher and faster environment to the Bundesliga.
And as mentioned above Arsene Wenger rarely produces consistently high FPL scoring players. They seem to have fits and starts like his teams of recent. Of course, Alexis was the exception to this but one only needs to look at the form (both &#8220;real&#8221; and fantasy) of the much-hyped Lacazette, Kolasniac and even Giroud to see that there is unlikely to be a sudden breakthrough for Mkhi. So for me, Alexis is in and watch Henrikh closely to see what really happens at Arsenal.
