This article will try to pick a few players who can help you catch up or kick on in your mini-leagues. Below are my picks for GW23 and beyond!

First up is one of the Foxes who isn’t affected by the January transfer window and is doing pretty well himself. Marc Albrighton. The name is going to come as a bit of a surprise to plenty (including myself), but he has had a pretty decent season. His returns in the last two seasons have been 2G & 6A in 2016/17 season and 2G & 7A in the 2015/16 season. With 16 games left this season, he is already on 2G & 6A which shows that he is having a much better season in terms of output. If we look at his FPL points, his last two seasons have returned 95 and 117 points respectively and with nearly half the season to go, he is already on 79 points this time around. Marc has one goal and three assists in the last five games giving him a pretty decent form of 5 PPG. A super differential (2.5% TSB) at a price of 5.5m and with the fixtures coming up after the Chelsea game, he is a decent punt that can also help fund the likes of Kun, Alonso, KDB etc.

Tread with caution on this one, as we now go to one of the biggest bandwagon failures of this season, Callum Wilson. Scored a hattrick against Huddersfield back in GW12 and then just got rotated / injured / blanked till GW20 when he scored again. He then scored again in GW22 and is in decent form now. With injuries to Defoe and King, he should be nailed on. Now his five goals this season isn’t all that bad considering the minutes he has played and especially when we see that he has scored as many goals as Mane, Silva, Eriksen, Alli, Richarlison and more than Zaha, Rashford, Chicharito etc. His current price is at 5.7m and is owned by just 2.2%. Also, if you have a look at his underlying stats (from Squawka), they clearly show him to be a much better option compared to most lower priced strikers. He is a terrific goal threat as shown in the past, on penalties and should be nailed on. This added onto decent form and good upcoming fixtures make him a terrific option especially for those that are looking to get rid of DCL.

Lastly, this one is an FPL legend in recent seasons but is at an alarming but not surprising low ownership this time around. Alexis Sanchez. After last season, if someone told me that Alexis would be at an ownership of 3.1% halfway through this season, I would have laughed it off immediately. 24 goals 11 assists in 38 games last season is absolutely mind-blowing. With the 7 goals and 5 assists so far this season, we can safely say that it has been hugely underwhelming. Missing majority of the first couple of months of the season, he has now played every game since GW9 (14 games in a row) and has got all of his returns (barring 2 assists) during this period. He is definitely in some cracking form at 5.8 PPG in the last 5 games and the next few fixtures are just beautiful. The obvious issue to consider here is whether he is staying at Arsenal or moving to City. Now for me, he is a good option in either case. If he stays at Arsenal, their next few fixtures are absolutely plum fixtures and he should do well. If he moves to City, they have some cracking fixtures themselves and he will be playing majority of the games (slight rotation risk as is the case with everybody at City) in a team that have been nothing short of ruthless in attack this season. He is still expensive at 11.8m but can be a huge differential for some who are trying to make huge strides in their rank. Below are some underlying stats comparison (again from Squawka) between Alexis, Eden Hazard and KDB which can give you some food for thought.
