<h3><strong>Ibrahima Konate (£5.2m) - Liverpool - 6.3% owned</strong></h3>

<p>Liverpool's upcoming fixtures are hard to ignore for those who aren't already tripled up, with Konate available at a relatively budget price considering the calibre of the defence.</p>
<p>That's the issue heading into the double - playing the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-assistant-manager-chip-tips-for-success/">Assistant Manager chip</a> on Arne Slot looks like a reasonable option, and Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Gakpo are all in excellent form.</p>
<p>Arne Slot's side have been performing at both ends of the pitch in recent weeks, and while there was no clean sheet against Ipswich thanks to a late <strong>Jacob Greaves </strong>header, there is little reason for concern among those invested in the Reds' defence.</p>
<p>As well as being the league's top scorers, they rank top for expected goals conceded (xGC), with Konate now a regular starter in the backline.</p>

<p>The Frenchman picked up an open play assist last gameweek, and while we are unlikely to see this occur on a regular basis, there will be plenty of routes to points for most Liverpool players given the number of goals they are scoring.</p>
<p>Konate is a significant threat from set-pieces too, and isn't afraid to drive forward or play incisive through balls in the vein of his predecessor Joel Matip.</p>
<p>His pass to Szoboszlai in Gameweek 23 was his third attacking return in 15 starts this season, but it's clean sheets that will be his bread and butter, and he looks great value for those with a Liverpool slot available.</p>
<p>The abundance of Liverpool options means there is less investment in the Reds' defence than expected ahead of their upcoming fixture run, and Konate provides a differential route into their backline with plenty of upside.</p>

<h3><strong>Vitaliy Mykolenko (£4.4m) - Everton - 6.9% owned</strong></h3>

<p>A defender from the Blue half of Merseyside offers an alternative for those looking to allocate their Liverpool slots elsewhere, and Mykolenko comes in almost a million cheaper than the aforementioned Konate.</p>
<p>If you're hoping to bring in another double gameweek asset at the back, the abundance of Liverpool options - including Arne Slot - leads us towards Everton's defensive picks.</p>
<p>The first of their fixtures looks favourable at home to Leicester, and we will also witness the last Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park - the Toffees have been known to hold their rivals to a 0-0 draw in some instances of this fixture, which isn't out of the question here.</p>
<p>Unlike Jordan Pickford, Mykolenko can't fall back on save points in the tougher of the two fixtures, but there is always the slim chance of an attacking return for left-sided players as Trent Alexander-Arnold drifts forward from Liverpool's right hand-side.</p>

<p>Mykolenko won't provide consistent threat like the Liverpool man does, but he does have license to get forward compared with their other defenders.</p>
<p>The Ukraine international was their most advanced defender by some distance in the last two matches, with the Spurs home game in particular seeing him spend plenty of time in the opposition half.</p>
<p>David Moyes will be keen to kick on with a clean sheet in a strong home fixture, and if you're in need of low-priced defender, Mykolenko looks like a safe bet with a good run of fixtures to come.</p>

<p>Szoboszlai's backers were rewarded with a 13-point haul against Ipswich last gameweek, with the midfielder taking 11 shots in the last two games alone.</p>
<p>While his starting position for Liverpool is deeper than the likes of Diaz and Gakpo, he is generally more advanced than the Reds' other midfielders, sometimes finding himself in a number 10 position.</p>
<p>In fact, this often leads to the Hungary international drifting into a second striker position from his midfield starting role, and his average position is sometimes comparable to that of Diaz.</p>

<p>Szoboszlai has proven to be an explosive yet inconsistent asset so far, with his 17-pointer against Spurs another highlight in his FPL career.</p>
<p>If he can begin chipping in with more regular attacking returns, he could be a useful option in the weeks to come.</p>
<p>There is every chance of this, as Szoboszlai has various routes to points, offering creativity from open play as well as a share of set-pieces, in addition to his proficiency for long-range shooting.</p>
