<h2 style="text-align: left;">The Best FPL Defenders for Double Gameweek 37</h2>
<h3><strong><br />
Andrew Robertson (7.3m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Southampton (a)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Andy Robertson</strong> has two goals and 11 assists this season, with an xG of 2.12. He has also created 64 Chances with an xA of 5.94 (2<sup>nd</sup> amongst defenders).</p>
<p>Liverpool have a decent fixture from both a defensive and attacking perspective in Double Gameweek 37. They come up against Southampton who have scored 40 goals (12<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 49.85 (8<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Despite no clean sheet in their last two league games, and the Saints' fairly good attack, Liverpool are still one of the best defensive teams in the league. They have only conceded 24 goals (2<sup>nd</sup>) with an xGC of 33.4 (2<sup>nd</sup>).</p>
<p>Robertson has had a great season to date. Despite a poor start he has picked up considerably, and since Gameweek 13 only Heung-Min Son has more points than him. He has registered the second-most assists (10) in this time also.</p>

<p>I like the Scotsman ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold this week, as he has been just as good as him, but more importantly, he has a better chance to start this game. I think Trent will start too, but Klopp has shown in the past few weeks he isn't afraid to bench his best players to prioritise other competitions.</p>
<p>Robertson just had his rest against Aston Villa so he should start this one.</p>
<p>The left-back has goal and assist threat, and takes plenty of set-pieces too.</p>

<h3><strong>Matty Cash (£5.3m) – Aston Villa</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Crystal Palace (H) and Burnley (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Matty Cash</strong> has had a great season. He has started every league game, and has managed three goals and three assists. He has 23 Shots in the Box with an xG of 2.82, and has also created 30 Chances with an xA of 2.98.</p>
<p>Aston Villa have an enticing double in Gameweek 37 as they welcome Crystal Palace and Burnley to Villa park. The Clarets have been one of the worst attacking teams in the league, only scoring 32 goals (19<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 37.51 (19<sup>th</sup>). Steven Gerrard’s men won't get a better chance to keep a clean sheet.</p>
<p>Palace have scored 46 goals (8<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 46.8 (12<sup>th</sup>) so have been okay in the final third, but Villa’s defence is good, and this is a tough game to call.</p>
<p>The Villains have conceded 49 goals (8<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 47.9 (8<sup>th</sup>). They have been a good defensive side keeping 11 clean sheets (4<sup>th</sup>) and I think they have the best chance of keeping two clean sheets amongst the doubling teams.</p>
<p>They have a 35% chance to keep a clean sheet in each of their fixtures this week which means they have a 58% chance of keeping at least one clean sheet (1<sup>st</sup>).</p>
<p>Cash is the best defensive asset for Villa when we look at his attacking stats and how nailed he is. He has the highest xG amongst his defensive teammate and the second highest xA.</p>
<p>Our <strong><a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Points Prediction Tool</a> </strong>ranks him as the third highest predicted scoring defender (8.5 points) for Double Gameweek 37.</p>

<h3><strong>Lucas Digne (£5.0m) – Aston Villa</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Crystal Palace (H) and Burnley (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Lucas Digne</strong> has two assists since joining Aston Villa. He has created 48 Chances this season, with an xA of 3.03 (highest amongst Villa defence). Since joining he has also been on set-piece duties taking corners and free-kicks, so more attacking returns are sure to come.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, Villa have a very enticing double, and therefore I do feel a double up on their defence is a good option this week, especially for those who are on a free hit. Another positive about this double up is also that the two full-backs both have attacking returns in them.</p>
<p>Digne has played 90 minutes in the last three fixtures since returning from injury, so I don’t think his fitness is a concern. He should start both these games in the double seeing as he is the first choice, as well as the fact there is a four day rest in between the games.</p>
<p>The French international has 24 assists and four goals in four seasons, so has a lot of pedigree when it comes to attacking returns.</p>

<h3><strong>Ryan Sessegnon (£4.3m) – Spurs</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Burnley (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Ryan Sessegnon</strong> has three assists in nine starts for Spurs this season. He has created nine chances, with an xA of 1.08. With Sergio Reguilon out injured, he should be nailed to start until the season ends.</p>
<p>Spurs have a great fixture in Double Gameweek 37 as they take on Burnley at home. Tottenham won't get many better chances to keep a clean sheet than this, as they take on one of the worst attacking teams in the league.</p>
<p>The Clarets have scored 32 goals (19<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 37.51 (19<sup>th</sup>) and they come up against a solid defensive team here.</p>
<p>Antonio Conte’s men have only conceded 40 goals (5<sup>th</sup>) with an xGC of 42.8 (5<sup>th</sup>). They are also at 50% to keep a clean sheet this Gameweek.</p>
<p>Ryan Sessegnon looks like a great option this week. He is very attacking and is one of the most nailed defenders right now. The 21-year-old is also at a very nice price of £4.3m so a great enabler, and can be a handy option for those playing the Free Hit Chip this week.</p>

<h3><strong>Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.9m) – Everton</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Brentford (H) and Crystal Palace (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Vitalii Mykolenko</strong> has started the last eight games for Everton, picking up a goal and an assist. He seems to have nailed down a spot in the starting 11, and should be good for two starts this week.</p>
<p>The Toffees also have two home games in Double Gameweek 37. They host Brentford and Crystal Palace in what looks like a good pair of fixtures for them. The Bees have scored 44 goals (10<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 49.82 (9<sup>th</sup>) and The Eagles have netted 46 goals (9<sup>th</sup>) with an xG of 46.8 (12<sup>th</sup>).</p>
<p>Both teams have a decent attack, but with Everton at home for both these fixtures, it does give them an advantage.</p>
<p>Also, Frank Lampard’s side have tightened up at the back recently, and they have been a lot better at home this season. They have kept two clean sheets in their last three home games, which came against Chelsea and Manchester United.</p>
<p>Over the season they are in the top 10 for goals conceded and xGC at home.</p>
<p>Everton are also 36% and 26% to keep a clean for their Double Gameweek 37 fixtures, which puts them at 52% to keep at least one clean sheet (2<sup>nd</sup>).</p>
<p>Mykolenko looks to be the best defender for the Merseyside club at the moment, for minutes and attacking threat.</p>
