<h2 style="text-align: left;">Best FPL midfielders for Gameweek 14</h2>
<h3><strong>Phil Foden (£8.4m) – Manchester City</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Leicester City (a)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Phil Foden</strong> has had a great start to the season, with six goals and four assists, and an xG of 3.62.</p>
<p>He has also been a creative force, creating 18 chances with an xA of 2.85.</p>
<p>He surprisingly started on the bench last gameweek, after starting every single league game to date. However, I don’t think it's anything to worry about. We have enough evidence to know that he is one of the players who will play the most minutes for Manchester City.</p>
<p>The Citizens play Leicester City in Gameweek 14, in what is another favourable fixture for them. Brendan Rodgers' side have conceded 24 goals (twentieth) with an Expected Goals Conceded (xGC) of 19.5 (sixteenth).</p>
<p>City have now scored 36 goals (first) with an xG of 27.15 (first) and look to be the best attacking team in the league by a margin.</p>
<p>They are the favourites to score 2.5+ goals (56%) according to the bookmakers, and you can bet Foden will get chances to score and assist this Gameweek.</p>

<h3><strong>Gabriel Martinelli (£6.8m) – Arsenal </strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Nottingham Forest (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Gabriel Martinelli</strong> has four goals and three assists this season with an xG of 3.74. He has also created 21 chances with an xA of 3.58. He has the highest xG amongst the Arsenal midfield, and the highest xA in the whole team.</p>
<p>His underlying numbers are great, and he looks to be one of the best midfield options this season.</p>
<p>Arsenal have one of their best fixtures of the season in Gameweek 14, as they welcome Nottingham Forest to the Emirates. Steve Cooper’s side have conceded 23 goals (nineteenth) with an xGC of 23.4 (nineteenth).</p>
<p>The Gunners on the other hand have scored 25 goals (second) with an xG of 23.47 (third). This doesn’t get more one sided looking at this match-up on paper. The second best attacking team in the league, against the second worst defence.</p>
<p>The bookmakers have Mikel Arteta’s men at 55% (second) to score 2.5+ goals.</p>
<p>The North London club have been exceptional this season, and only Man City have been better than them going forward.</p>
<p>Martinelli’s underlying numbers and Arsenal’s improvement tell us he is going to have a great season, and be a fantastic value asset. He can score and assist, and is now nailed to start.</p>
<p>The Brazilian is the fifth highest scoring midfielder (6.8 points) in Gameweek 14 according to our<strong> <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Points Prediction Tool.</a></strong></p>

<h3><strong>Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m) – Crystal Palace</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Southampton (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Wilfried Zaha </strong>has had a decent season so far, bagging five goals and one assist. He has an xG of 4.43 (second among midfielders) and has created 11 chances with an xA of 1.97.</p>
<p>Crystal Palace have a kind fixture in Gameweek 14 with a home game to Southampton. The Saints have conceded 19 goals (sixteenth) with an xGC of 19.1 (fifteenth) so are in the bottom five for defensive stats.</p>
<p>Palace haven't been the best going forward this season, scoring only 12 goals (sixteenth) with an xG of 13.87 (sixteenth) they have had some tough fixtures in the early part of the season.</p>
<p>Plus, with a favourable home fixture, you would expect them to score with the quality they have.</p>
<p>The Eagles are going to be favourites for this one, and with Zaha as their talisman, best player, and penalty taker, he will be the one most likely involved in one way or another.</p>
<p>He has a 60% goal involvement rate in the games he has played for Palace this season, and is clearly their best player and FPL asset.</p>

<h3><strong>Miguel Almiron (£5.4m) – Newcastle United </strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Aston Villa (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Miguel Almiron</strong> is having the best season of his career. He has six goals in 12 games, and is currently the second highest scoring midfielder in the game. His stats are impressive also, and show this is no fluke.</p>
<p>He has an xG of 3.62 and has created seven chances with an xA of 1.24.</p>
<p>Newcastle United have a home fixture against Aston Villa this week. The Villains have conceded 16 goals, with an xGC of 17.4 (tenth). Although they have struggled to score, they actually haven’t been too bad at the back.</p>
<p>However, Newcastle have been fantastic this season, and are the most improved side in the league. They have scored 20 goals (sixth) with an xG of 21.57 (fourth) and you would have to say they are a top five side now.</p>
<p>Almiron is becoming very hard to ignore. His previous season best has been four goals and two assists, so he looks to have stepped up massively. This has likely coincided with his team creating more chances and becoming an overall better unit.</p>
<p>At £5.4m, he looks like a great value option, and could possibly be the best budget midfielder in the game.</p>

<h3><strong>Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) – Liverpool</strong></h3>
<p><strong>Fixture: Leeds United (H)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Mohamed Salah</strong> has three goals and four assists this season with an <a href="https://fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/a-simple-guide-to-opta-stats-for-fpl/">expected goals (xG)</a> of 5.08 (first among midfielders) and he has created 28 chances with an xA of 2.78</p>
<p>Liverpool have another great fixture this week, as they welcome Leeds United to Anfield. The Reds have been a far cry from what we are used, to and that is mainly down to the number of injuries they have sustained.</p>
<p>Despite their poor form, they have still scored 22 goals (fourth) with an xG of 23.47 (second) so you would expect them to score and win here. Leeds have conceded 18 goals (fifteenth) with an xGC of 18.2 (twelfth).</p>
<p>Jurgen Klopp's side are also the third favourites to score 2.5+ goals (52%) in Gameweek 14, and Mo Salah is the third favourite to score at anytime too at 52%.</p>
<p>Salah has the best xG amongst midfielders, and Liverpool are still a good attacking side. I think it’s a matter of time before we see the Reds and Salah click into gear. He is still one of the best assets in the game who is nailed to start, on penalties and has both goal and assist threat.</p>
<p>Our <strong><a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">Points Prediction Tool</a> </strong>actually ranks him as the second highest predicted scoring player (8.0 points) overall for Gameweek 14.</p>
