Jarrod Bowen is a potential injury doubt for West Ham&#8217;s match against Burnley at the weekend &#8211; but what is the latest on his fitness and who are the best replacements in Fantasy Premier League (FPL)?
The £7.7m midfielder has been one of the most popular transfers in ahead of Gameweek 13, with more than 300,000 managers bringing him in.
But many of those brought him in before news he had an injury scare while on international duty with England.

<h2>What happened to Jarrod Bowen? What&#8217;s the latest on his fitness?</h2>
England manager Gareth Southgate said Bowen had suffered an <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-injury-concerns-gameweek-13">injury in training</a> ahead of their final Euro 2024 qualifier with North Macedonia on Monday (November 20).
It appeared Bowen&#8217;s withdrawal from the squad was precautionary, with Southgate explaining they had not had time to fully assess the extent of the problem:
<blockquote>“We didn’t really have enough time to assess it fully and make an accurate decision, so we felt better to leave him in England. We wouldn’t take a risk.”</blockquote>
Rumours circulated that the issue with the Hammers talisman&#8217;s knee could be more serious, with his participation in Gameweek 13 in doubt.
David Moyes held a pre-match press conference at 1:30pm on Friday, where he was asked about Bowen&#8217;s condition.
And he was keeping an open mind on his star man&#8217;s participation. He said:
<blockquote>​&#8221;We hope Jarrod will be available tomorrow against Burnley but we will make a decision on that tomorrow.&#8221;</blockquote>

<h2>Should Jarrod Bowen be sold in FPL?</h2>
Bowen was in high demand before injury doubts emerged, with his ownership rising to 29.2%.
If fit, he would be one of the highest-scoring midfielders for his price over the next five gameweeks in terms of <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/predictions">predicted points</a>, according to <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/ai-team-rating">Hub AI</a>.
Losing him ahead of West Ham facing Burnley would be a blow for owners. The Clarets have been one of the <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-tips-the-best-and-worst-teams-according-to-the-stats">weakest defensive units</a>, conceding the second most goals in the league (30).
West Ham&#8217;s <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fixture-ticker">fixtures</a> over the next few weeks also remain strong.

Bowen has not been completely ruled out of Gameweek 13, leaving FPL managers with a dilemma.
Hub contributor <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/bigmanbakar-fpl-team-reveal-2023-24">BigManBakar</a> summarised it well on his Twitter page:
<blockquote>&#8220;Can&#8217;t sell Bowen with the news now. If he ends up starting v Burnley, you&#8217;ll likely end up kicking yourself. Just got to cross your fingers and hope for the best.&#8221;</blockquote>
FPL managers could therefore opt to hold him if they think he has a good chance of playing this weekend or returning in Gameweek 14.
This is particularly the case for those who have an alternative option sitting on the bench, such as Cameron Archer (£4.6m), who plays Bournemouth at home.
But on the other hand, there are numerous midfield options to choose from this season and niggling doubt over Bowen opens the door to a potential transfer.
Some may have low confidence in his likelihood to start and have weak depth on their bench. If this is a case, looking elsewhere may be viable.

<h2>Potential Bowen replacements in FPL</h2>
Should FPL managers be minded to sell Bowen, Bryan Mbeumo (£6.9m) tops the list of potential replacements.
The Brentford penalty taker will likely be one of the leading transfers in ahead of Gameweek 14, when the Bees host Luton.
That move may have to be brought forward a week for many managers, despite Brentford having a tricky home tie against Arsenal.
Mbeumo is third for expected goal involvements (xGI) among all players and has six goals and three assists to date.
Erling Haaland (£14.0m) and Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) are the only players to record better expected points per appearance than him.
He is predicted to score the most points over the next five gameweeks, after which he has a blank gameweek. Brentford rank fourth best for overall fixture difficulty in this period.

Those still keen to take advantage of West Ham&#8217;s fixtures could consider a straight swap from Bowen to Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m).
With Michail Antonio (£5.8m) facing a spell on the sidelines following an international break injury of his own, Kudus&#8217;s minutes look even more secure than they have become.
The Ghana international has had an excellent start to his West Ham career, with five goals in all competitions since moving to London.
Two of those goals have come in the league, with an assist on top. He has played just 364 Premier League minutes, however Moyes integrated him slowly into the side.
He has started the last three league games and looks to have established himself as a key part of the Hammers&#8217; attack. At 1.7% owned, he is a differential option at £1.2m cheaper than his teammate.
Kudus sparked injury concerns himself when it was reported that a back issue had prevented him training ahead of Ghana&#8217;s meeting with Comoros. He ended up playing 45 minutes in the game on Tuesday.

Bowen sellers can bank even more money with the purchase of Cole Palmer (£5.2m) or Anthony Gordon (£5.8m).
Palmer has defied his budget price in recent weeks. He leads the way for expected goal involvements (6.0) since Gameweek 7, contributing four goals and three assists in that time.
He has become Chelsea&#8217;s go-to penalty taker and was icy cool in securing a point from the spot in injury time against Manchester City in Gameweek 12.
The former City midfielder is practically level for predicted points with a fit Bowen. Chelsea&#8217;s fixture run soon becomes one of the best in the league.
Gordon meanwhile has been an important part of Newcastle&#8217;s attack. He has four goals and four assists to his name.
The Magpies midfielder is beaten only by Mbeumo for predicted points at Bowen&#8217;s price point and below.

Eberechi Eze (£6.1m) is a fantasy option once again, after he made his return from injury in Gameweek 11 against Luton.
He has managed 10 FPL points in 120 minutes of football since then, scoring a penalty against Everton in Gameweek 13.
Like Mbeumo, Eze is a talismanic figure for his club, with set-pieces as well as penalties in his locker.
He creeps onto the predicted points list above, with Luton and Bournemouth waiting over the next three gameweeks.
