<h2>Bruno Fernandes injury: How did it happen, when and what is the problem?</h2>
<p>Fernandes was substituted after sustaining an ankle injury during Sunday's FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton.</p>
<p>Despite picking up the injury early on, Fernandes played on through the first half of extra-time, until he was taken off when it became clear he could not continue.</p>
<p>Fernandes returned to Manchester for medical assessment, but the club are yet to provide an official update on his fitness.</p>
<p>The Portugal international looks a doubt for United's crunch game against top four rivals Spurs tomorrow, but we have not yet had any concrete information to this end.</p>

<h2>What has happened since the Brighton game on Sunday?</h2>
<p>An Instagram post from Bruno's wife on Tuesday sent social media into a frenzy.</p>
<p>The picture that was uploaded shows the United man wearing a protective boot, with crutches visible just to the edge of the image.</p>

<h2>What's the latest on the injury?</h2>
<p>However, on Wednesday April 26, Bruno was seen walking without a protective boot or crutches.</p>

<p>Eric Ten Hag attended a press conference today (April 26), and here are the key updates from the Manchester United boss:</p>

<p><em>"We have to see how he is, we don't know yet. It's a question mark. He played a full game and it happened in the first half. But tomorrow is quick [turnaround], so we have to see what is possible.</em></p>

<p>Ten Hag also dismissed the significance of Bruno's protective boot:</p>

<p><em>"More often (than not) players (wear the boot) that we protect them, prevention. But the ankle has to settle down, so we all have seen he played the full game and (the injury) happened in the first half.</em></p>
<p><em>But (the game is) Thursday, so tomorrow is quick, but we have to see what is possible. We don't know yet, he is a question mark."</em></p>

<p>These quotes would suggest that Bruno has a decent chance of being fit for Double Gameweek 34, even if he does miss the Spurs game.</p>
