Liverpool have signed Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig for a reported £60m &#8211; but where will he fit in at Liverpool and what are his fantasy prospects?
Szoboszlai becomes the latest Leipzig talent to join the Premier League, with teammate <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/christopher-nkunku-fantasy-football-profile">Christopher Nkunku</a> signing for Chelsea.

<h2>Dominik Szoboszlai: The history</h2>
Szoboszlai began his senior career at Austrian second division club Liefering, scoring 16 goals in 42 games.
That earned him a move to Red Bull Salzburg in 2018,  where he stayed until 2021 before joining RB Leipzig.
The deal between Red Bull owned teams was the most expensive transfer for a Hungarian player in history.
Injury kept him sidelined for his first season but he completed two full campaigns in the Bundesliga, registering identical tallies of six goals and eight assists in the competition.
He topped the table for assists among his teammates last season &#8211; the joint-ninth best return in the league.

<h2>What is Dominik Szoboszlai&#8217;s best position? Where will he fit in at Liverpool?</h2>
Szoboszlai has taken the number eight shirt at Liverpool, which may give us a strong clue as to where he&#8217;ll play under Jurgen Klopp.
But he is capable of playing in a range of positions.
His <a href="https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dominik-szoboszlai/leistungsdaten/spieler/451276/plus/0?saison=ges">Transfermarkt</a> page shows how he played mainly on the right last season &#8211; but over his career as a whole it&#8217;s central midfield where he has been used most, with an even spread of time spent on either flank.
In an interview on Liverpool&#8217;s club <a href="https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/szoboszlais-first-lfc-interview-full-ambitions-klopp-respect-and-playing-style">website</a>, Szoboszlai said of his best position:
<blockquote>&#8220;To be honest, for me it doesn’t matter – I want to be on the pitch. But of course everybody has their own position.
&#8220;Of course, attacking midfielder as a 10, I can play on both 10s, left, right, on the sides also. Just I want to play.&#8221;</blockquote>
Liverpool are undergoing a rebuild of their midfield, having already signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
Mac Allister and Szoboszlai could slot in either side of Fabinho in the centre of midfield, although Szoboszlai&#8217;s versatility could see him fill in further forward at times if required.

<h2>Dominik Szoboszlai: FPL prospects</h2>
FBref.com lists Bruno Fernandes and Michael Olise among players with similar profiles, indicating creativity &#8211; particularly when it comes to assisting goals &#8211; is likely to be his main strength.
But it is worth noting here that many of Szoboszlai&#8217;s assists came from set pieces, which he is unlikely to have a monopoly on at Liverpool.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson were the main corner and indirect free-kick takers last season. Alexander-Arnold took the most direct free-kicks too.
Mac Allister&#8217;s signing complicates matters too, with the Argentine a specialist at the Seagulls. Fantasy managers will have to keep a close eye on proceedings in pre-season and in the opening gameweeks to see who is bossing the dead-ball situations.
Szoboszlai does however offer plenty of creative spark in play.
His <a href="https://fbref.com/en/players/934e1968/Dominik-Szoboszlai">FBref profile</a> ranks him strongly for attempted passes, pass completion percentage and progressive passes, with his overall assists per 90 and actions leading to shots among the best among similar players.
<a href="https://www.whoscored.com/Players/369875/Show/Dominik-Szoboszlai">WhoScored</a> rates his crossing as his best asset, with numerous other attributes like key passes and through balls rated as &#8216;strong&#8217;.
But they do flag discipline as a concern. The Hungarian picked up two red cards last season, although they were the first of his career.
All things considered, Szoboszlai has the quality to become a potential FPL asset, however a period of monitoring &#8211; like many new signings &#8211; may be advisable.

<h2>Dominik Szoboszlai: Sky, Telegraph and Dream Team stats</h2>
Sky awards bonus points for certain levels of successful passes, tackles, shots and saves.
Attacking players rarely reach the levels required for passing bonus, however shots and occasionally tackle bonuses are within reach.
Telegraph likewise awards bonus for tackles, however this is only for midfielders.
Dream Team gives extra points to those who achieve a WhoScored rating of seven or more, while points are also earned for being named Star Man.

<h3>Szoboszlai&#8217;s stats</h3>
Szoboszlai managed a WhoScored rating of 7.32 in the Bundesliga last season, being named man of the match four times. If Dream Team retains bonus points for seven-plus ratings, he could be one to prosper.
He averaged 45 passes per game at 83% accuracy &#8211; equating to around 37 successful passes. This would be unlikely to lead to regular bonus points in Sky, however these numbers could improve if he plays in Liverpool&#8217;s midfield three.
In terms of tackles for Sky and TFF purposes, he averaged 1.5 a game, some way short of what is likely to be needed to become a real bonus magnet in this regard.
And finally, he averaged 1.9 shots per game &#8211; 0.9 of which were on target.
Much like his FPL prospects, a wait and see approach may be best to see how he adjusts to life in the Premier League.
