Fantasy football tips for Double Gameweek 27. In this Fantasy Premier League series FPL Junior (four top 13k finishes in last four seasons) shares his FPL tips by selecting a team each week to try and score as many points as possible. In essence, he will be “free hitting” every single Gameweek. Rather than selecting longer-term options, he’ll solely focus on players with the best form and fixtures for the upcoming Double Gameweek 27.
Double Gameweek 27 Team
Chelsea are rock solid at the back at the moment so the skipper Azpilicueta and Mendy double up against Everton. The Blues conceded six shots in their previous double Gameweek making it six clean sheets in eight.
Reguilon was afforded a rest in the midweek game so gets the nod against Palace. They accumulated the lowest xG in double Gameweek 26 despite playing twice.
Dias is my Man City defender this gameweek against Southampton and Man Utd who’ve failed to score in their last two games. Who knows who’s going to start both games. He looks the safest option but I’m still unsure he plays four games in a row.
Cresswell faces Leeds at home who’ve been very hit and miss as of late. His points have gone under the radar this season and his added set-piece potential not only enhance his chance of attacking returns bit have massively helped him with bonus points.
Gundogan and De Bruyne complete the Man City triple up for their double Gameweek. The former was given a break during the week while the latter played 180 minutes. Whilst neither players are tearing up trees I think they are relatively safe to feature in both of their games, especially Gundogan.
With the dire form of a lot of the attacking option at the moment, I’ve taken a punt on Aubameyang. I was looking at his cheaper teammate Saka until I realised the amount of funds I had lying around and went for the player with the higher ceiling and just off a rest. Burnley look extremely poor at the moment and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arsenal get revenge after losing the reverse fixture.
Son plays Palace who to my shock returned two clean sheets in double Gameweek 26, only conceding a single big chance. Spurs looked a different beast against Burnley before looking Mourinho-esque against Fulham. Hopefully the former turns up.
Kane’s in for the same reasons as Son. The forward spurned plenty of chances last week including two of his three big chances and I think he’ll get more opportunities against Palace.
Antonio faces Leeds who are a defence I’m going to continue to target. West Ham are an extremely well-oiled machine and put up a great fight against the league leaders. The forward has recorded five big chances in his last four games.
Martinez, Raphinha, Maitland–Niles and Benteke sit on the bench.
Double Gameweek 27 Captaincy
De Bruyne is the skipper in the final double Gameweek of this long spell.
I’ve opted against any Southampton players despite their two games. Vestergaard was the only one I would look at due to his aerial threat.
Liverpool players are absent for similar reasons. Last season a home game was almost an auto-pick for Salah and an auto-captaincy against a promoted side but he doesn’t make the cut this week against a Fulham side who aren’t leaking many goals.
Chelsea players outside of their defence are slowly coming onto my radar but I’m still a bit fearful of rotation but Everton’s defence massively overperformed with after an xGC of 2.17. Mount is the safest option at the moment.
