Fantasy Premier League Double GW27 tips from FPL Matthew, arguably the best FPL manager in the world with three top 500 finishes and a further six top 10k finishes. Double Gameweek 26 Review

I said before this Gameweek that I felt that this was going to be a difficult week for my team, and a likely end to my run of green arrows, especially with many managers wielding their Bench Boost or Triple Captain Chips - and so it turned out to be. With 10 double Gameweek players, a score of just 69 points was rather underwhelming and, predictably, led to a sizeable red arrow from 149k to 204k overall rank. Some people questioned why I didn't play a chip, with Gameweeks 'running out'. Put simply, my bench wasn't good enough without a couple of hits, which seemed counterproductive, and I felt that none of the Triple Captain options had the right combination of form and fixture. Looking at how my bench performed, together with how the main captaincy options fared, I'm comfortable that I made the right decision. Hopefully, with both these chips and the second wildcard still in hand, I'm well placed to navigate the remainder of the season successfully. Here are my double Gameweek 26 points in full:

Gameweek 27 Preview

Here is the Hub Fixture Ticker over the next four Gameweeks ordered from best to worst:

Hub Fixture Ticker (next four)

Although I am effectively 'dead-ending' my team into the 'blank week' Gameweek 29, I have also included the week after, Gameweek 30, in here as some of the key teams playing in Gameweek 29 also have a decent fixture the week after - e.g. Aston Villa, Leeds United and Tottenham. Therefore I may well elect to delay my wildcard for that extra week. This is how I'm currently set up, going into Double Gameweek 27:

It's perhaps debatable whether I should play Calvert-Lewin or Soucek but its something like this. Three City double-gameweekers - ideally I'd probably prefer the more nailed on Ruben Dias (£6.1m) rather than my two defenders but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend a transfer on that.

Most Wanted List

This is where I identify the players who I am currently most considering bringing into my team as well as highlighting who, if anyone, may be able to make way for them. This helps me to formulate a rough mental shortlist of potential moves. I update this list each week. Goalkeepers New: Emi Martinez (£5.3m) - the injury to Jack Grealish may yet open the door up to the top-scoring FPL keeper Out-list: Alex McCarthy (£4.5m) - Southampton have been poor lately and, as predicted last week, he's now been dropped, Nick Pope (£5.6m) - Burnley haven't been great recently, and fixtures are not great either over the next few Removed: None Defenders Lucas Digne (£6.2m) - the prospect of a possible Gameweek 28 double has me looking at Everton's perenially attacking full-back New: Ruben Dias (£6.1m)the safest of the Manchester City defenders, with some goal threat as well, but would mean a "sideways move" New: Lewis Dunk (£4.9m) - the defensive stalwart of Graham Potter's xG Champions - nailed on, a decent amount of goal threat and a fixture in Gameweek know times are hard when it comes to this Out-list: Ben Johnson (£3.9m) - rarely plays Removed: Ola Aina (£4.5m) - being taken off at half-time last game (for tactical reasons) has put me off a little, plus their double Gameweek has now gone Midfielders Jack Grealish (£7.7m) - always a solid option, at a good price, and with extra fixtures to come - returning to fitness Heung-Min Son (£9.5m) - still on my radar Out-list: Tomas Soucek (£5.3m) - some tricky fixtures coming up (although he too has a game in Gameweek 29) Removed: Ademola Lookman (£5.0m) - not enough recent returns despite his promise Forwards New: Michail Antonio (£6.5m) - back-t0-back goals, a promising fixture this week and a fixture in Gameweek 29 Out-list: Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.8m) - the lingering (but fading) possibility of a double in Gameweek 28 is the main thing preventing me from removing him at present Removed: Harry Kane (£11.1m) - as I brought him in last week

Chip Strategy Recap

To recap, I (still) have the following chips remaining: second Wildcard, Bench Boost and Triple Captain. My Free Hit Chip I used in Gameweek 18. My current plan is to navigate my way through now to Gameweek 29 (inclusive) via free transfers. After that, I will use my Wildcard soon after (Gameweek 30 or 31). My Triple Captain, I will use whenever feels right - form, fixture/s and quality - this is an "easy" chip to use anyway. My Bench Boost I will most likely use post-Gameweek 30, following my second wildcard
