<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Switzerland</strong> are in <strong>Euro 2020 Group A</strong> with: <strong><a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/euro-2020-fantasy-football-italy-best-player-tips/">Italy</a>, <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/euro-2020-fantasy-football-tips-team-previews-group-a-turkey/">Turkey</a> and <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/euro-2020-fantasy-football-wales-player-tips/">Wales</a></strong>.</span></p>

<h2>Route from qualification</h2>
<p>Switzerland qualified by finishing top of their group, finishing above Denmark and Ireland. They only lost once in eight games, keeping four clean sheets and scoring 19 goals.</p>
<p>These numbers look decent, but when put into contest (the fact they had Ireland, Georgia and Gibraltar in their group), the <a href="https://cms.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/opta/" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c="1" title="FPL Stats by OPTA - Player and Team Stats">stats</a> are to have been expected.</p>
<p>They finished 3rd in a Nations League group with Spain, Germany and Ukraine, only winning once in their six games.</p>
<p>They held both Germany and Spain to draws, so will be hopeful they can do the same against Italy. Furthermore, they only failed to score in one of the six games, which is promising given the quality of opposition.</p>
<p>Their defensive record wasn&#8217;t bad despite only keeping one clean sheet; they only conceded more than one in a game twice. They also had international friendlies in 2020 vs Croatia and Belgium, losing both 2-1.</p>
<p>They hold a 100% record in their World Cup Qualification after beating Bulgaria 3-1 and Lithuania 1-0..</p>
<p>The Swiss will probably just about it make it through in 2nd or 3rd place in Group A.</p>

<h2>Switzerland Euro 2020 Expected lineup:</h2>
<p>Below is my predicted line up. They will line up in a 343 formation:</p>

<p><strong>Mbabu &#8211; Freuler &#8211; Xhaka &#8211; Zuber</strong></p>

<p>Most of the team are sure starters, although <strong>Steven Zuber</strong> may be dropped for Newcastle defender <strong>Fabian Schar</strong>, moving <strong>Ricardo</strong> <strong>Rodriguez</strong> to left wing-back.</p>

<h2><strong>Switzerland Euro 2020 Best player picks:</strong></h2>
<p>Defender <strong>Ricardo Rodriguez</strong> is expected to take penalties and set-pieces in a defensively based side, so could be fantasy gold. He also could start in the wing-back berth as previously mentioned. If you have high hopes for the Swiss, he is easily the defensive go-to option.</p>
<p><strong>Xherdan Shaqiri</strong> is an interesting prospect, he is arguably Switzerland&#8217;s best player. His form for Liverpool hasn&#8217;t been great, but he does have one goal and two assists in his last three international matches.</p>
<p>In addition, he does have a decent record in major international competitions. He was injured during the whole qualification period. The attacking options around him worries me, as well as the tricky group.</p>

<h2><strong>Cheaper alternatives:</strong></h2>
<p><strong>Nico Elvedi</strong> is a nailed enabler with a little bit of goal threat. He&#8217;s only scored once in 25 caps but has scored five and assisted twice for Monchengladbach this season.</p>
<p><strong>Kevin Mbabu</strong> is likely to start at wing-back so naturally provides decent attacking threat, but only has a single assist to his goal involvement tally this season domestically.</p>

<strong>Seferovic</strong> has only scored once in his last eight international games, and only has one goal in his 11 major international matches; he is also under pressure from <strong>Mario Gavranovic</strong>, who is the Swiss&#8217; top scorer this season internationally, and has scored 17 goals in the Croatian first division.</span></div>
