Fantasy Premier League is a truly global game, with millions of FPL players from all over the world taking part in the 2022/23 season.
From former champions to Premier League professionals themselves, more than 11 million managers played the game this time &#8211; but only 20 held the number-one spot at the end of the gameweeks.
Here, we take a look at where everyone who finished top at the end of each of the 38 gameweeks placed on the final day of the season.
We&#8217;ll also analyse the best Premier League players and how some former FPL champions performed.

<h2>FPL 2022/23: How every gameweek leader finished up</h2>
FPL managers from 18 countries ended a gameweek ranked number one, with varied overall results.
Champion Ali, from Azerbaijan, first made it to the top in Gameweek 28, thanks to a captaincy haul from Bukayo Saka and a 12 pointer from Tyrone Mings.
He lost the lead over the following four gameweeks but returned to the top in Gameweek 33. He never looked back, ending the remaining gameweeks in first place.
But others who got themselves into the top spot struggled to stay there &#8211; particularly those who managed it in the early days.
Gameweek 1 leader <a href="https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/7309963/history">Andrew Rodgers</a> used his <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/what-is-the-fantasy-premier-league-triple-captain-and-when-to-use-it">Triple Captain</a> chip on Erling Haaland at the very start.
And although it secured the Englishman 39 points on the way to a 119 point total, he had slipped to 281k by Gameweek 2. He ended up just inside the top 2m.
That finish was better than Gameweek 4 number one <a href="https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/6296848/history">Hama Hasan</a>, of Iraq, who fell to a final rank of 4.5m.
<a href="https://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/6033938/history">Kristian Finnland</a>, of Norway, fared much better. The Gameweek 8 leader battled to a 1.4k finish &#8211; a rank beaten by none of the gameweek leaders until the halfway mark, when all but one finished in either the top 100 or top 1k.

<h2>FPL champions and their 2022/23 ranks</h2>
Last year&#8217;s FPL champion was United States resident <a href="https://twitter.com/Futbolislifefpl">Jamie Pigott</a>, who revealed his <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-champion-jamie-pigott-gameweek-1-team-reveal">Gameweek 1 team</a> exclusively on Fantasy Football Hub.
The Spurs fan ended the 2022/23 season ranked 239k &#8211; good enough for third place in an imaginary mini-league of the last eight FPL winners.
<a href="https://twitter.com/FPL_TeddyBears">Michael Coone</a> claimed a top 50k finish to go with his 2021 victory, ending the latest season ranked 21k overall.

<h2>How Premier League players performed in FPL 2022/23</h2>
The FPL teams of a number of Premier League professionals were tracked by the<a href="https://www.fplbot.app/"> FPL Bot </a>website.
And although their teams were eventually relegated, stars of Leicester and Leeds were the best in the virtual game.
James Justin came top, ranking in the top 77k, while teammate James Maddison was just inside the top 100k.
Leeds&#8217; Adam Forshaw reached a high of 1.7k back in Gameweek 25 but had run out of steam by Gameweek 38, finishing in the top 126k.
