FPL Gameweek 19 is well underway, with Fulham and Chelsea having a double gameweek &#8211; here we briefly review the key FPL takeaways from Wednesday&#8217;s action (January 4), including a haul from Harry Kane (£11.6m).

<h2>FPL Gameweek 19 Review: Kane and Doherty among Spurs haulers</h2>
Kane leapt to the top of the FPL points standings for Gameweek 19 with a 16 point haul against Crystal Palace.
He scored two and assisted one in the 4-0 away win, which was also notable for double-digit hauls for Matt Doherty (£4.6m) and Ivan Perisic (£5.5m).
Even Son Heung-min (£11.6m) got in on the act, breaking a barren run of FPL form which last saw him return a goal or assist in Gameweek 10.
It was Spurs&#8217; first time not going behind for 11 games, with the north London side picking up their first win in three league matches.
Kane&#8217;s brace, coming from an expected goals tally (xG) of 0.68, took him to 15 in 18 games &#8211; he&#8217;s just six behind Erling Haaland (£12.2m) now, although he&#8217;s played three more games.

Doherty meanwhile tops the league in Gameweek 19 so far for shots in the box (four), although only one hit the target.
Bryan Gil (£5.0m) assisted Kane&#8217;s second goal in a 76 minute showing, following on from the 62 minutes he played against Aston Villa in Gameweek 18.
The absences of Dejan Kulusevski (£7.9m) and Richarlison (£8.4m) have handed Gil his chance &#8211; but he has clearly gone up in the estimation of Spurs manager Antonio Conte since the Italian&#8217;s arrival.
Speaking after the match, he said:
<blockquote>&#8220;We are talking about a player born to play football. He understands football quickly, he&#8217;s so clever.
&#8220;This league is difficult. Quality, you have to be fast, to have good endurance and he has this type of quality but at the same time you also you have to be strong physically. I think compared to last season Gil has improved a lot in this aspect. He has to become stronger physically.
&#8220;I compared him to Bernardo Silva of Manchester City because in my opinion they are really similar. He has to continue to work on the physical aspect because he has great quality.&#8221;</blockquote>

<h2>Paqueta on penalties, Rodrigo hits 10 for the season</h2>
Leeds and West Ham played out a 2-2 draw at Elland Road, with Rodrigo (£6.3m) netting his tenth league goal of the season.
The FPL midfielder, who was denied a late winner by a close-range save by Lukasz Fabianski (£5.0m), now sits fifth on the top scorers&#8217; list.
With an enticing fixture run over the next six weeks which includes games against Nottingham Forest, Everton and Southampton, Rodrigo is not the only cut-price Leeds midfielder worthy of consideration.

Crysencio Summerville (£4.3m) assisted a goal for Wilfried Gnonto (£5.0m) &#8211; the latter a forward in FPL &#8211; for his first return since the league&#8217;s restart.
Summerville had been on a fine run prior to the World Cup break, with four goals in four games. He missed the first game back through injury, making his return off the bench against Newcastle on December 31.
With Andreas Pereira (£4.6m) fit for the restart and with a double gameweek this week, he was many managers&#8217; budget midfielder of choice &#8211; but could that change in the weeks ahead? Here are the fixtures for both sides for the next six weeks:

On the West Ham side, Lucas Paqueta (£5.9m) was on penalty duties ahead of Jarrod Bowen (£8.0m), converting from the spot in the absence of Said Benrahma (£5.6m) from the starting lineup.
Paqueta sits joint-top with Youri Tielemans (£6.2m) for shots on goal this gameweek (five), three of which were in the box.
Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca (£6.6m) fire in the Hammers&#8217; second goal but their winless run stretched to six games.

<h2>Mings to Ings, Bueno gets another start</h2>
The Midlands derby between Aston Villa and Wolves ended in stalemate, with goals from Daniel Podence (£5.3m) and Danny Ings (£6.4m).
Leon Bailey (£4.5m), who missed a big chance at the death, was favoured to Ings, who replaced Ollie Watkins (£7.1m) after 66 minutes.
The Villa clean sheet was wiped out after 12 minutes but Tyrone Mings (£4.3m) came away with seven points courtesy of an assist for the Ings goal and two bonus points.
Mings, on four <a href="https://www.fantasyfootballhub.co.uk/fpl-whos-suspended-and-whos-near-a-one-game-ban">yellow cards</a>, avoided a fifth booking which would see him miss a game. Villa have just one game left before hitting the 19 game mark, after which the five yellows rule is upped to ten.
Hugo Bueno (£3.9m) started another league game and was replaced after 79 minutes by Toti (£3.9m).
Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.2m) came on for Hwang Hee-chan (£5.7m) in the 59th minute, with the left-back playing a more advanced role.

Ait-Nouri has come off the bench for Julen Lopetegui&#8217;s team in the three games since the restart. He scored against Everton and saw a shot saved following an eye-catching mazy run on Wednesday.
The FPL defender could be one to watch, particularly if he secures a starting spot further up the pitch. Whether this is something his boss has in mind long-term though remains unclear.
In his post-match press conference, the Wolves manager was asked about the importance of Ait-Nouri showing his skills in attack when he came off the bench, Lopetegui said:
<blockquote>&#8220;It&#8217;s not his job to score, his job is to defend well and maybe he can help us in the offensive phase because this is one of his skills.
&#8220;He has to put the focus on his weaknesses as have all the players because he has big potential &#8211; but he has to work and I think he is doing this always and trying to improve.&#8221;</blockquote>
Another one for the watchlist is new Wolves forward Matheus Cunha (£5.5m), who got 24 minutes on his debut.
Speaking <a href="https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/matheus-cunha-wolves-aston-villa-25898079">after the match</a>, Lopetgui said of his new charge:
<blockquote>&#8220;Cunha was maybe for 10 minutes, no more, but in the end we decided to put him on the pitch. He tried to help us and he&#8217;s going to put his body, step by step, better. But he needs minutes.
&#8220;At the same time, we need to compete and have to put our good players in the best way. I think he is going to prove it in the next matches.&#8221;</blockquote>

<h2>Awoniyi sinks Saints</h2>
Nottingham Forest secured an away win over fellow strugglers Southampton, with Taiwo Awoniyi (£5.7m) claiming his fourth of the season.
Brennan Johnson (£5.6m) capitalised on some loose defending to set up the Nigerian, piling pressure on recently appointed Saints boss Nathan Jones.
It is now six losses on the bounce for Southampton and they remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Forest fans had a first look at new midfield signing Gustavo Scarpa (£5.0m) in competitive action.
The two-time Copa Libertadores winner has signed from Brazilian club Palmeiras and had 19 minutes on the pitch.
Scarpa amassed seven goals and 12 assists in the 2022 Brazilian league season.
