Fantasy Premier League GW29 tips from FPL Matthew, arguably the best FPL manager in the world with three top 500 finishes and a further six top 10k finishes. Gameweek 28 Review

A return to form for my team after two red arrows. A score of 66 points seems to have been very good in the context of this week and this was borne out in a rise from 220k to 153k overall rank. This has brought me roughly back to where I was before the last two weeks which, considering I have not used any chips, I am quite happy with overall and feel that I am ready to kick on again now. This week my two Manchester City defenders, João Cancelo (£6.2m) and John Stones (£5.3m) did the business but my favourite haul of the weekend came from new signing Lewis Dunk (£5.0m) who I was lucky enough to get off the bench for Ilkay Gündogan. My captain, Mohamed Salah (£12.4m) blanked but then so did all of the popular captains, so that didn't make too much difference in the end. Here are my double Gameweek 28 points in full:

Gameweek 29 Preview

Here is the Hub Fixture Ticker over the next four Gameweeks ordered from best to worst:

Hub Fixture Ticker - next four

This shows the teams playing this week, with other teams missing out due to the FA Cup fixtures. The reason I have chosen to look up to Gameweek 32 is that, following this in Gameweek 33, there is another "mini-blank" week with the following teams being without a Premier League fixture due to the EFL Cup Final:
  • Manchester City
  • Tottenham
  • Fulham
  • Southampton
So this is another thing to think about and perhaps another opportunity for those with Free Hit or, like myself, Wildcard left to use. This is how I'm currently set up, going into Gameweek 29:

Matthew's current Gameweek 29 line-up

As you can see, I currently have eight players with a fixture this week, so I will need to try and address that in my transfers this week. Obviously, I have been planning towards getting some sort of side out and, given the fixtures available, I think I am in reasonable shape here.

Most Wanted List

This is where I identify the players who I am currently most considering bringing into my team as well as highlighting who, if anyone, may be able to make way for them. This helps me to formulate a rough mental shortlist of potential moves. I update this list each week. Goalkeepers None Out-list: Alex McCarthy (£4.5m) - Southampton have been poor lately and he's now being rotated with Fraser Forster, not ideal Removed: None Defenders New: Kiernan Tierney (£5.2m) - an attacking force in a decent looking Arsenal defence, has a fixture this week and few decent ones coming up Out-list: João Cancelo (£6.1m) and John Stones (£5.3m) - as Manchester City now have two blanks in the next five gameweeks Removed: Ruben Dias (£6.1m)as Manchester City now have two blanks in the next five gameweeks; Lewis Dunk (£5.0m) - as he is now in my team Midfielders Gareth Bale (£9.6m) - four goals and an assist in the last four gameweeks, certainly one of the more explosive options available this gameweek New: Jesse Lingard (£6.1m) - his loan to West Ham has transformed him from a running joke to a great value FPL option with four goals and two assists in his last six Out-list: Mo Salah (£12.4m) - hasn't been pulling up any trees at this premium price and no fixture this week Removed: Heung-Min Son (£9.5m) - now an injury doubt; Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) - temporarily off my list, due to those two blanks Forwards Michail Antonio (£6.6m) - amongst the goals and a fixture in Gameweek 29, nice price New: Patrick Bamford (£6.7m) - one of the stars of this season and looks like he's fit again for this week Out-list: None Removed: None
