Chris Tan's fixture analysis: Gameweek 36

Last week we called that Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) had a good match-up - but once again his team mates failed to convert the chances he created. He also picked up maximum bonus points without any goal involvement, which highlights how much he did.

I was certain that Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) would continue his hot streak at home and Alexander Isak (£8.1m) could do some damage. Both performed well.

I also highlighted that Son Heung-min (£9.9m) was the most likely to cause Arsenal problems.

This week is the calm before the chaos that is Double Gameweek 37 and the unpredictable goal fest of Gameweek 38. You’ve got three weeks left to finish strong, who should you be targeting?

Manchester City and Arsenal look most likely to score two or more goals, according to the odds. They're also the most likely to keep a clean sheet.

These stats are for the last six gameweeks, prior to the Chelsea v Spurs game. Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, City, Spurs and Arsenal look to be the best teams for expected goals.

According to this metric, it should be a case of targeting West Ham, Manchester United, Luton, Burnley and Brighton.

Luton v Everton

Everton are easily safe after winning three in a row and there are worse options than one of their defensive players given how rare clean sheets are these days.

Luton have a fighting chance of survival but they desperately need a result here. History is on their side and they won the reverse fixture 1-2.

I will be analysing this fixture from an Everton defensive perspective.

Additional factors to consider

Luton have the worst recent xG in the league and seventh worst home xG across the season.

Everton’s recent xGC is average and their away xGC is similar.

On the surface, it doesn’t look like their prospects of a clean sheet are very high, especially given their respective league positions where Everton can afford to ease off and Luton desperately need points.

The Toffees have only kept four clean sheets away from home compared to eight at home.
