Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37 tips from FPL Matthew

Matthew is arguably the best FPL manager in the world with three top 500 finishes and a further six top 10k finishes. Every week he writes his FPL Team Reveal article detailing his team, captain and plans for the coming Gameweek exclusively for Fantasy Football Hub members.

FPL Blank Gameweek 36 Review

This was a 'bits and pieces' Gameweek for me - my captain, Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), did OK and apart from that, I got a few points here and there, but nothing dramatic. But fortunately it was a low scoring week in general, a week where benches were stretched to breaking point, and beyond. My score of 55 (-4) was enough for a very small green arrow, from 64k to 61k overall rank. Here are my Blank Gameweek 36 points in full:

FPL Gameweek 37 Preview

Here is the Hub Fixture Ticker over the remainder of the season ordered from best to worst, sorted on projected league points:

Hub Ticker - predicted points

This view shows projected league points, taking into account the quality of the teams themselves as well as their opponents. If I switch it to just look at opponent difficulty (the traditional fixture ticker view) the picture changes as follows:

Hub Ticker - based on opponent difficulty

The Fixture Ticker is looking a bit sad now, as we grind our way to the end of the season - ah well, the Euros are just around the corner! West Ham and Liverpool I'm already maxed out on, which is nice. Newcastle have a couple of good fixtures left and have actually been scoring goals in recent weeks - maybe there's a bargain or two to be had there? Leeds, also, have a good final run in, and Raphinha is back in the fold, for example. On the other end of the scale, Aston Villa and Everton, both teams I'm invested in, have trickier final twos. This is how I'm currently set up, going into Gameweek 37:

Matthew's current Gameweek 37 Bench Boost team

You'll see that I currently have my Bench Boost chip active...more on this next. You'll also note that Diogo Jota (£7.0m) has been ruled out for the run-in with an injury.

FPL Chip Update

Bizarrely, I still have my Bench Boost to use - I think this will finally be the week! I currently have this chip activated, as you can see from the graphic above. Although it is possible to cancel this chip ahead of the deadline I think I will play it this week as opposed to next week as perhaps the potential for chaotic line-ups is even higher in Gameweek 38 than it is this week. Plus, I sort of set my squad up for bench boosting this week, fixtures-wise, when setting up my recent Wildcard.

FPL Most Wanted List

This is where I identify the players who I am currently most considering bringing into my team as well as highlighting who, if anyone, may be able to make way for them. This helps me to formulate a rough mental shortlist of potential moves. I update this list each week. Obviously as there are only two Gameweeks remaining, this is going to be a much more focused and short-term list than usual. Goalkeepers None Out-list: Ederson - was rested last game, I have to hope that was a one-off Defenders None Out-list: Removed: Stuart Dallas (£5.2m) came into my team last week Midfielders New: Raphinha (£5.5m) - back fit and two nice fixtures to go, a quality Premier League debut season Out-list: Diogo Jota (£7.0m) - as he is now out injured Forwards None Out-list: Ollie Watkins (£6.5m) - possibly, just because of the last two tough fixtures as well as their dip in form Removed: Michail Antonio (£6.5m) - also now in my team, Chris Wood (£6.4m) - realistically I wouldn't bring him in with the fixture this week, Patrick Bamford (£6.4m) - his gametime has become too patchy of late
