FPL Gameweek 3 Review

Gameweek 3 was another solid one. The troops scored 65 points to bring my rank to 288k. The two free transfers didn't go superbly, I actually lost one point by making them as Ivan Toney (£6.4m) and Jack Grealish (£8m) were in the points but I'm happier to own Said Benrahma (£6.4m) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£8.2m) now, hopefully for the long-term.

Luke Shaw (£5.5m) finally got a clean sheet and the two bonus points for Trent Alexander Arnold (£7.5m) without a clean sheet or attacking return was great.

I got the captaincy right, it's always nice when you captain the highest-scoring player in the team. My initial plan going into the season was to captain Bruno Fernandes (£12m) in Gameweek 3 so I'm glad I remained flexible there and made the switch to Michail Antonio (£7.9m). Nothing can ever be set in stone in FPL.

Aside from Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), the midfield was a let down while Danny Ings (£8m) may have made his last appearance for the Troops.

It was good to see Joel Veltman (£4.4m) make an appearance from the bench for Brighton. I'm still hopeful that the Veltman/Luke Ayling (£4.5m) rotation will yield points over the coming Gameweeks.
