FPL Gameweek 6 - Brief Review

It was a much lower scoring Gameweek for many as Manchester United succumbed to Aston Villa at Old Trafford. The highly captained Cristiano Ronaldo blanked for the first time since his return to the Premier League.

Elsewhere, Manchester City produced a dominant performance against rivals Chelsea. Brentford continued to impress as their fixtures stiffen with a thrilling 3-3 draw against Liverpool in the game of the weekend. Arsenal's revival in the North London Derby brought their assets back onto fantasy radars..

The number of injuries continues to mount across FPL squads. This will shape transfer strategy and timing for those still holding their first wildcard.

FPL Gameweek 6 - My Team

The first red arrow for my team of the season and a modest drop in ranking from 35k to 48k.

This could have been a lot worse, given my captaincy failure (Ronaldo), two further blanking players from Manchester United and a transfer '50/50' with my move (Raphinha to Ismaila Sarr).

I always like to remove a doubt from my side if making a transfer and after team news on Friday afternoon confirming Raphinha was still doubtful, I made the move. Later that evening, pictures of Raphinha getting off the team bus made him more likely to play! This once again shows that leaving transfers as late as possible can yield valuable information.

On the positive side, Sarr duly delivered 9 points and there were further attacking returns from Ivan Toney, Michail Antonio, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.  This limited the damage to the ranking and my team is still in the top 50k this week with two transfers and a wildcard to come. I'm happy with this position.
