FPL Gameweek 7 Recap
It feels like forever since the last Gameweek:
The big four have established their places at the top of the league and only Manchester United look vulnerable. I expect the rest to remain there for the rest of the season.
Chelsea dominated a good Southampton team, but Lukaku (£11.7m) owners were left devastated, as he missed an absolute sitter.
Manchester City and Liverpool participated in a highly entertaining clash.
Local rivals Manchester United were slightly fortunate to come away with a point against Everton. Ole Gunnar Solskjær played with fire by benching Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.7m).
Scrap the new boys, it’s all about the tried and tested.
Mohammed Salah (£12.7m) scored an absolute wonder goal and assisted the first. This was against the best defence in the league. He’s simply on another level this season.
The ever-reliable Jamie Vardy (£10.4m) just keeps on scoring. He is only one point behind must-have Michail Antonio (£8.0m) in the striker charts.
Who to Target
Norwich finally kept a clean sheet (CS), but there wasn’t enough there to indicate a massive improvement. I’d still be relentlessly targeting them.
Newcastle are the other team that always look like conceding.
Captaincy: how Have we Done to Date?
What a terrible week all round! Only Salah (£12.7m) appears to be reliable at the moment and given his fixture this week, his effective ownership (EO) will be huge.
There’s always one defender that smashes it each week. The difficult part is to identify them.
Meanwhile, midfielders still have the edge over the forwards due to the additional goal and CS point.

FPL Gameweek 8 Captain Twitter Poll
Who do my Twitter followers think is the best FPL Gameweek 8 captain?
I added a comment that 'Anyone else' should have stated Lukaku (£11.7m).
Phil Foden (£7.9m) has returned in his last two games against Burnley (both were at home). He scored a brace when he started on the left wing, which is where he featured in City's last game.
Salah (£12.7m) has absolutely destroyed Watford in the past. However, that was a different team and they’ve gone through about five managers since then.
What is interesting though is that six goals and one assist were scored at Anfield, which suggests he might not be as potent away from home (but who would bet against him on this form).
Heung-Min Son (£10.1m) has only blanked in one game that he started against Newcastle.
All but one of Harry Kane’s (£12.1m) goals against Newcastle have been scored at their ground.
Kevin De Bruyne (£11.9m) picked up two assists against Burnley at home last season, but has never scored against them.
Joao Cancelo (£6.2m) hasn’t picked up much against Burnley in the past, but both games ended with a clean sheet (CS).
